Thailand's police continued their almost daily crackdown on loan sharking with another raid in the Rama 3 area of Bangkok.

And once again it was Chinese backers who are behind the operation but Thai staff who got arrested.

Police armed with a search warrant issued by the South Bangkok court on Tuesday went to the Riverview Place building in Rama 3, Soi 46 in the Chong Nonsi area of Yannawa.

On the second floor in four rooms adapted to be offices they encountered four men and two women who tried to flee but were arrested.

Thirty computers and ten phones plus other evidence was seized.

It had been operating there for two months under the names of Mango Loan and Coco Loan.

A seven day loan of 1,700 baht could have daily interest as much as 415 baht suggested Daily News
