Beware of the Lazada Sellers Advertising of Products.

I wanted to buy packets of Smash potato. There are several packets with different sizes and prices, one of these is a packet to serve three people which is priced at 257 Bt, I wanted several packets, and only one arrived, I paid the delivery guy. I just assumed the 257 Bt was for the four that I ordered. That was probably my fault.

But just who was responsible for advertising that? I would imagine it would be the seller, which would prove that Lazada themselves don't check what the seller is advertising, and hoping to catch people out, he has made himself 200 Bt.

I'll take Lazada any day of the week over Shopee.

Ordered 15x 1Kg bags of rabbit food on Thursday from Shopee.

15 bags arrived in a box this (Saturday) morning.

Never a problem.

glad it worked out. Wish it did for me...but  We've had nothing but issues almost every time when placing an order.  I've just taken them off my shopper list.

So you are saying you ordered 4 pks and received only one ?

I thought I had but I may have made a mistake, but that does not excuse the packet being advertised at 257 Bt there are several packets advertised at different prices, I think it is a ploy to mix people up. It seems the sellers have full control over the advertising, and Lazada themselves don't take any responsibility for it.

Lazada has sellers advertising at 3x or more normal sales price under many different names, but apparently shipping from same place, and filling your search screen with same high priced item in hope you will buy as you see all at same price.  It seems to have become much worse under the new ownership in that regard.

I saw this and sometimes makes me think the less expensive item can’t be any good or it wouldn’t be so cheap….they all seem to be the same product????

You can trust very few people that don’t have stand in front of you and make their claims…lies come easily to those sitting at a desk where no one can see them!

I had that once on Shopee where I ordered two pair of scissors and only one arrived.  I immediately notified the shop and Shopee.  I was required to return the one pair I received.  I then reordered and got the two pair.

A lot of the stuff doesn't come from Lazada, but direct from where its sourced. I have found Lazada quite good.

Shopee ....I havent used much----

But WISH....wow thats a completely different story..............has anyone actually got what they ordered on WISH......

A quick Lazada search for "batchelor's smash potato" pops up 15 items ranging in price from 39 to 279 Baht. All bar one is for the 88g packet (no indication that any are more than one pack).

The item that isn't 88g is a 280g tub for 89 Baht, sadly out of stock.

You definitely have to read, read, read, I've nearly been caught out when the same seller has the same item with one sale for several times the price of the other, it looks like a multi-pack deal, it isn't.

I did the same, there is a "Batchelor Smash The original Instant Mashed Potato 88 g ", 257 bahts , maybe it's the one OP bought

for me, no doubt, it's well indicated "one piece", so, no fault from the seller

one months ago, I bought a Citizen calculator, but it didn't work

I contacted the seller ( not Lazada ), he asked me to send it back, then he sent back a new one, and this one works well

Did you send it directly to the seller or did you use the Lazada return procedure with refund first?

I sent it directly ( in the same packet ) by post , 42 bahts, but ok, I wanted this lovely mini calculator ; so far, i never used the refund by Lazada

is it better ?

On line shopping has been around a long time now and doing quite well…just ask Jeff Bezos or his Chinese counterpart Jack Ma????

I remember talking about it with my friends at coffee years ago and our age group was having a really hard time understanding how anyone would give credit card numbers and how could you ever buy something site unseen blah blah blah!

What we missed was that these companies have a long term goal and are striving to give the best possible service and on line banking safety for their customers! Bad news travels fast while good news plods along but eventually those companies win out ie: Amazon, Lazada and such! There’s nothing in it for them to have bad press!!

But there’s always the other guy who’s looking short term and will take a quik buck and disappear…those are the guys we have to watch out for…at least until they too disappear (to be replaced by another)!

My downfall is I don’t proof read  very well…always an issue with me so I’m spite of what is say I’ll probably get stuck with one size 11 shoe at some point!

Read read and re read before you push the final button..

**Do what I say…not what I do????

Buying products from China on Lazada is an adventure:

1 gig thumb drives for 200 baht are really 1 megabyte.

3600 mAH lithium ion batteries are really 800 mAH.

DVDs are in Mandarin, no English, no Thai.

or the product never comes, your order is cancelled.

As others have said ......  read ... read ... read ....

The problem with Lazada and Shopee i find is the advertised picture and price and item can be mistaken, they will show two or three items including the one you choose to look at,  they will have a description that is confusing to the header title of the item,

then when you message them to get clarification they either won't read it, or they won't reply. Then when you email Lazada or Shopee to get further facts or complain because it's the wrong item, you get the usual ' please contact the seller ' ......     A big part of the problem is they can't read english and I can't read or write thai .....   but even a translated message, they don't want to answer,   or they don't understand the question.   It's just such a battle to get clarity ....  imo

I give up using Lazada or Shopee  unless it's absolutely  necessary.

Why, when spuds cost next to nothing in Tesco/Makro/ market and have no additives unless you put them in.

And even the packets at Bht 39 will cost more than that to post to you.

I get such a kick out of these type of posts….there is “always” someone who wants to tell the OP what he should want instead of what he plainly stated he wants!

Do you really think he didn’t know about potatoes  ????

I'll admit had no idea what a Smash potato was.  Guess been in rice zone too many years.

None of it comes from Shopee or Lazada.  They are just an online shopping venue.  You have merchants from all over who list their products on Shopee or Lazada.   These two sites are nothing more than a menu where people shop and the products are shipped from the merchant to the customer.  There "may" be some products that are warehoused but the advertisements are done by those selling products.  You could sell something new or used on Lazada or Shopee.  They just get a percentage for facilitating the sale.

OMG we eat rice every meal!!

We are close to Somoeng and the Tesco there has pretty good potatoes and even a few of the ladies at the market so I’ve been able to turn a few Thais onto potatoes with pork belly for breakfast…but for other meals ????????
