anchadian
So that excludes foreigners who wish to travel to other borders in the red zone. For people who need to travel across borders in the red zone, you are asked to fill out the form at http://covid-19.in.th. You will then get a QR Code which you must show if you are stopped at a checkpoint. At the moment the form is only in Thai & asks for Thai ID card number. https://twitter.com/ThaiNewsReports/status/1417330480488226820 Edited July 20, 2021 by anchadian

I hope we can cast our minds back to early April 2020 and situation in Phuket. I recall us planning couple week break end of March 2020. At last minute opted off the Phuket idea and went to Koh Samet. What followed was closing of Phuket island. Recall the mass exodus when bridge finally opened. Nightmare. Phuket would be last place I would go including sandbox folk. Edited July 20, 2021 by DrJack54

A month of mass testing in all the major hub cities nationwide including factory sweeps would give a true picture of the situation..... but they dont have the infrastructure to implement this or deal with the consequences. anchadian
Thailand’s airlines feeling the pinch with no government support (More) Meanwhile, the carrier has suspended all domestic flights, the first airline to do so once the partial lockdown was announced. According to Tassapon, exceedingly low demand meant it was pointless to continue operating. “We stopped all flights last week as there was little demand with only 30 – 50 passengers per flight in July. The government never responded to our demands for soft loans which have been requested since the first lockdown last year. The ban of domestic flights now has worsened the situation. We hardly see a way out from this circumstance.” According to Tassapon, 7 member airlines of the Airlines Association of Thailand will meet this week and call on the government to help. It’s understood that the 7 airlines have a workforce of over 15,000 between them. Tassapon has issued a warning that should airlines be allowed to collapse, as has already happened with some, the government will struggle to collect tax revenue next year. https://thethaiger.com/news/business/thailands-airlines-feeling-the-pinch-with-no-government-support Edited July 20, 2021 by anchadian

anchadian
The Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital Foundation on Monday said in a statement that its stock of fah talai jone (andrographis paniculata) pills was at a low level due to the surge in demand. The foundation said it had so far distributed fah talai jone pills via government agencies, non-governmental organisations and donors. Demand for the herb has shot up after a recent study by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine showed that it could cure Covid-19 patients who had mild symptoms and were asymptomatic. The medicine has long been used in Thailand and many Asian countries to cure the flu, sore throat and inflammation. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40003487

Cadan
We all know the numbers are rigged. Its impossible to have more or less the same numbers every day. Its pretty clear to me that the reporting numbers are capped. First take action of stricter rules and lockdown. If numbers go up. Prepare the public 1 week before and than release the increased numbers. With the UK opening up completely we will see what the future will bring.

Popular Post Bkk Brian
More show of support like this is needed for all medics working on the frontline. Samutprakan Hospital director applauds medics for making ‘miracles’ In a message on Samutprakan Hospital’s Facebook page, director Dr Namphol Danphiphat applauded every doctor, nurse and medic under him for their “miraculous” work with Covid-19 patients. There are close to 200 Covid patients in the hospital and another 2,400 in field hospitals its staff are responsible for. The director said the hospital personnel’s work went beyond expectations and it is a miracle that everyone has the energy to continue battling against the virus. He added that though there may be arguments and conflicts due to the ongoing pressure, people can come and talk to him directly if they have problems. “Don’t hesitate to tell me what I can do for you,” he said. In his post, Dr Namphol also said he wanted to tell everyone that he and his medics “have done their best for Samut Prakan and the country. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40003489

bradiston
Don't believe the hype about 2nd shot being AstraZaneca if 1st shot Sinovac. I got 1st shot Sinovac, my 2nd today at Phayathai 2. Sinovac! I guess given free by China. Place packed, mostly Chinese, numbers called in Chinese. No problem with that. We're all in the same boat. But the lies put out by Prayut, Anutin and Opas, just mind boggling. But my mate got AstraZaneca for his first shot at same hospital, today! The link you provided shows an average 19 deaths daily and 39,950 positive daily cases average over the week. Not sure where you're getting your numbers from? Anyway with the high vaccination rates in the UK its impossible to compare this to Thailand as obviously the UK deaths will be far lower as a result.
