The molnupiravir treatment is administered over 5 days.

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04575597?term=molnupiravir&draw=2&rank=2

In the end, the 800mg dose was chosen for Phase 2, taken twice a day for 5 days. Phase 3 trial MOVe-OUT had excellent interim results, upon which it was approved in the UK to be marketed as Lagevrio.

as I said Read up on this.. re- posted in the News + Thailandmedical.news

“Molnupiravir” Covid-19 antiviral medicine produced by Merck...   appear you need 40 capsules over about 3 months if you are unvaccinated

for those that have had a Jab but not a follow up for whatever reason, then it is a 5 day course. or so it appears. also read that these capsule's cost just 6 baht each....   if I understand it correct for those of us that have lifelong 'Vaccine allergy anaphylaxis'  low dosage per day is given over 3 months.

Will be asking my Dr next week on my 100 day appointment.. maybe somewhat wiser if the Dr has any knowledge on this.

Seems to be total misinformation that you got. Molnupiravir is a treatment for infected people. Makes no difference whether vaccinated or not. The price is around USD700 for a course (40 pills). At 6 Baht per, it would immediately disappear from the Thai market.

Maybe I read that it will be investigated as a prophylaxis. Then the idea would be to give it to people who were exposed to Covid. At the current price, that would hardly be practical.

I can forsee lawsuits over that. While the Hippocratic oath doesn't specifically say they must treat any that come to them, "I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism" could be interpreted that way.

The drug needs to be given within five days of symptoms developing to be most effective.

Meanwhile the people are using their democratic right to protest about lockdown mandates. Seems the cracks are beginning to appear in the "team of 5 million".

Just hope that officer was vaccinated...for rabies.

Doubt it. In today's world we lock down the fittest so that the least fit can survive a little longer.

What makes this really tragic is that the covid pandemic hasn't affected in the least the availability of intensive care beds at hospitals...oh wait a minute...

The fittest?  Most like the most unintelligent.  Get the jab and we're out of this mess.  The US spent almost 6 BILLION treating unvaccinated in the past 4 months.  The oldest and weakest pay taxes also and are subsidizing these nutters.

Seems like you're willing to throw the oldest and weakest under the bus.

P.S. Retail sales in the US are doing fantastic.  The unemployment is going to reach 3.5%.  Where do you get your news?
