Why are students / diplomats going abroad bunched in with expats?

Anyone know if AZ from Thailand is allowed into EU?  I've heard AZ from India is not recognized ...  What about AZ from S Korea too?

Good list, but might as well saved time and just said "everything".

I'll add a few airport-centric deals: Suvarnabhumi (the actual airport itself - look no further that the current health minister,  and his firm Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction PCL, which built several government mega-projects such as Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport ), the CTX baggage scanners and the King Power concession (which made another family's fortune).

Stuff falls off the truck here at at least a 30% clip.

Didnt a certain person authorize cheap loans to Burma?

"Full disclosure"?

In Thailand?

By the regime?

Yeah, good luck with that.

They don't mind making 'disclosures', they just can't help themselves, whether it is the truth is a another matter, again, they just can't help themselves.

Former Pheu Thai MP Dr. Tossaporn Serirak is demanding full disclosure of the distribution of the 1.5 million doses of Pfizer mRNA vaccine, donated to Thailand by the United States.

Set up a DR's site where they can register what they've received, and see if it adds up to the donation figure?

Asking Anutin is futile, add up what's been delivered to the health care and then ask where are the missing doses.

Well, today is the 11th and Minister Anutin said the approved persons on expatvac should be getting a notice by now.

Have any of you who received an approved notice via e-mail received further instructions?  I've been watching my e-mail and SMS like a hawk but no joy.

No reply.

I think we all know how this works.  The wealthy and powerful are allocated a specific number of vaccines based on their position within the food chain.  Then these vaccines are assigned to their “followers” … those who have done them favors or those they might need favors from.  Why ask for full disclosure?  This is the way things have always been done in Thailand … long before the appearance of the the current mischief makers running the show.  Everyone knows this.  Nothing revelatory to see here.  Perhaps not with vaccines but are you saying the same process does not exist in your home country?  Agree, does not make it right but it’s the very nature of power.  Why else would people pursue it?

Assuming they even have vaccine for he Expatsvax registration from 1st August logistics is not something they are famous for here.

40,000 plus registrants in different parts of the country would pose a problem in most countries, from the previous failures of online registrations alone here the actual roll out of vax to all registrants looks like a nightmare for the Thai's in charge.

The vaccines only have limited shelf life so look for excuses why such and such a vax is unavailable, Pfizer was the name that attracted so many registrations, be interesting to see what transpires, if anything.

On the other hand, hope I am wrong and appointments and actual vax will soon take place!

My anxiety level just went through the roof, every time I open my mouth, but before speaking, my wife says, NO, I will let you know when I receive the SMS or email, and yes, I have been checking every 5 minutes.

So, it begins. All switched on expats understand how things here. Unwritten rules of social hierarchy.

Farangs complaining about whether they will be cheated out of their slots suddenly doesn't look petty at all.

The World Bank estimated several years ago that 30%-50% of all government expenditure in Thailand disappeared on 'graft'.

Watching the process around here of getting rural roads de-potholed, I can well understand their optimism.

Registered on August 1st shortly after the system started.  Apart from acknowledgement that my registration was successful I have NOT received any further information on when, where and what vaccine.

I guess he’s not one of the connected Thais that will receive or pay one of his connections for the Pfizer vaccine.  Imagine how the Americans who live here feel.  Their own govt. donating free vaccine and not looking out for their citizens.  Leaving the vaccine in the hands of govt officials to be distributed fairly, trusting they will do the right thing.

People, state which province you are in when you say you haven't received an appt yet from expatvac site.  One guy from BKK (assuming he is in BKK) said he got an appt.  When did you get the appt email / SMS?

I am over 70 with one of the seven underlying conditions.  I registered on expatvac on the first day with a photo of a medical certificate verifying the medical issue from my doctor.  All I have received is the email right after submitting my form saying that I had successfully registered.  I have received similar emails from two other vaccinations sites during the past two months, but I have yet to receive any vaccine - amazing Thailand!

I registeret on the 1. august and got a return mail that my registration was succesful. That was the last time I heard from them, even though they wrote that I would hear the 10. or 11. august at the latest. I watched my mail many times every day since.
