Please see the link below.  This is going to make new applications much more difficult if what The Star has reported proves to be true.  I wonder also if existing visa holders are grandfathered and also what happens once their visas expire: do they need to meet the new requirements?  Also, do these rules apply equally those under 50 and those 50 and over?

 

I imagine there could be a knock-on impact on property values in certain parts of KL and Penang.

 

I am disappointed personally as I was going to apply immediately based on the old rules: I will now need to rethink.  

 

Watching developments with concern.

By the way, why aren't you considering retiring in Thailand instead of Malaysia? Any particular reason why you prefer Malaysia?
