In Jomtien, your dog is allowed to walk on the beach, but you are not. Says it all, really, lol.

Unleash and all is fine.

But don't set a foot on the sand yourself.

High Covid risk

To avoid confusion: the beach is closed. No walking, no sitting etc.

One of the most ridiculous rules set.

Can't they distinguish between people (alone/couple) walking on the beach and big groups having a barbecue party on the beach?

"They" can but if allowed it would need to be enforced and understood by the public. A blanket Keep It Simple ban is just easier.

He can walk on the promenade, and use a long leash!

And do not appear to be enjoying yourself. The general frowns upon that

Try wearing a mask, yellow safety helmet, sunglasses, a dirty but recognizable hi-viz jerkin, scruffy over length jeans, and a pair of flip flops. Carry a small spade and a tape measure and stop occasionally to dig a small hole in the sand and measure it. The BIB will think you're a local government official and leave you alone.  The dog might confuse them, but act as though you're chasing away a stray Soi dog and you should pass muster.

And before anybody has a go at me, I saw a Thai dude doing exactly this way up past Soi 19 at low tide last week. Sans dog, obviously.  Don't know what the hell he was doing.

In Pattaya some years ago when some event was on they had municipal officials at one of the step entrances to Pattaya beach and they stopped us from taking our dogs onto the beach - said it was against the "law". GF had a right old argument with them but they wouldn't budge.

Saw a Thai dude with his metal detector on Jomtien beach…..actually it was a mine detector…..he found a mine and fell into it…..so I grabbed his detector and ran off. I did hear faint screams, but figured it was a lost jet ski person.

Jomtien...on the actual sand, I see some people doing it. On the promenade...yes.

Happily, whether technically permitted or not, It's active and life as usual on around the "breakwall" too. Beautiful sunset last night, complete with couple strolling on the beach.

Ye bonkers people walking on sidewalk ..gets busy yet beach can't walk to sea for a?dip totally madness

Just got back from Jomtien beach. Lots of people around sitting on the wall, on the beach, in the sea, people with dogs, lots of walkers. I had the impression it would be all closed off as I had heard the news but not visited. 5;30pm this evening it was very lively.

Just carry a saw and cut down the odd tree, that seems to be acceptable behaviour.

And that's why covid will not be ending anytime soon in Pattaya / Thailand.

This girl Pim who does live videos on Twitch was on the beach in Koh Chang this afternoon. She's still online live at the moment. She seems to travel around the tourist areas without a lot of problems as she makes videos and talks about Thailand and her life.

Why do people subscribe  to this kind of stuff? No more interesting than watching  just one person  watching it!

A Thai authority making things easier?? Only if it suits them as in this case.
