BANGKOK, Aug 19 (TNA) – Thai Airways International (THAI) announced to resume international and domestic flight operations during the August – October period.

In response to demand for air travel, the airline will operate flights to international and domestic destinations under the Covid-19 prevention measures, said Nond Kalinta, THAI’s chief commercial officer.

The domestic route is:

1. Bangkok – Phuket: two flights per week every Thursday and Friday, starting from September to October.

That’ll be a relief to the ‘Sandboxers’ who have entered Thailand via the Sandbox to avoid ASQ.    That said, I’d perhaps make a booking on the day of planned travel rather than in advance -

  • What would be the point of doing Bangkok to Sydney? As i understand Australians wont be permitted to leave the country for some time.

That said, I’d perhaps make a booking on the day of planned travel rather than in advance - whether or not any flight TG schedules at the moment actually takes off is certainly going to questionable at best.

It is best to book directly at the counter with a credit card on the day you want to fly. Check beforehand on the information board whether the flight is actually taking place. With all the bad bankruptcy news about Thai Airways and Nok Air, I'll be very careful.

Exemption from that policy is available and plenty of folks have got it.

If you can prove you are also a resident of another country you get approval to leave. Showing a Certificate or Residence or Tabien Baan book with your name in it gets the exemption from the rule.

Another international carrier is operating a once a day service out of Australia, have been for many months.

Maybe it's just a ploy to get masses to book flights in get some money in and then cancel them all again and not return the flight money

Time to get that government (taxpayers) cheque book out again.????

Now how does THAT Come as NO Surprise to Me ??

I'd like resumption of flights from Udon Thani to Hua Hin.

Having been in the aviation industry for 20 years I would be sceptical about these planes being in top shape, between layoffs, on again off again flights, I just don’t think these planes are getting the love they should be at present????

No, their Management spent the money on Mia Nois, cars and imported booze.

Yes I am living in WA I am not allowed to leave my state

I won't ever fly them again if there is a option. An airline so riddled with corruption that it can't fly right in boom times is a life-hazard.

But what's really unforgivable? No wine in domestic business class. Not even the cheap but drinkable 185ml Aussie plonk served in plastic bottles in international steerage, and no, it was a codeshare freebie, so I'm not grandstanding, but business should be worth it. Also, the telly was not powered up. I was the only customer up front and it was 2016.. I wonder why? Not.

But, but, it's due to "demand"! I guess some uniformed female rookies at the ministry for tap water (billing division) need their flight wings.

Check the Gov't website, there are exemptions.

Two TG flights this morning but likely not for domestic use?

Connecting to Frankfurt and Paris.

What about the people who don't want to leave?

The convo is about attracting tourists to Thailand.

In this case, im talking flights from Sydney to Bangkok, but Australians are not allowed to leave Australia anyway.

Not sure what you are getting at?

The easy answer is, anyone who doesnt want to leave can stay where they are.
