Hilux Tiger 2004

Hi All,

Has anyone had a timing belt changed, I think I should get this done as I cant find any record of it being done, what would the approx cost be Toyota dealership or private garage .

Thanks.

Personally, I would get it done at Toyota, if it is the same as the Vigo D4D engine, it is a half hour job, plus using genuine Toyota parts (belt/tensioner), D4D belt has to be changed at 150,000 Km, has a dash warning light at 150,000 Km on the Vigo.

Seems 2004 had a couple of different engines, look at the plate under the hood for the engine code..

Cheers mate, It's a D4D I had a look at the 2 plates under the bonnet but they are badly worn and cant see any detail, all I can make out is D4D 16V

My mechanic recommended replacing the water pump at the same time since he was inside anyway. Was cheap
