One of Thailand’s longest running TV variety shows truly comes of age this week. Khadee Det ("Excellent Cases" is a fair translation) started on September 9th 2000 and is required Saturday afternoon viewing on Channel 7 for millions including this columnist.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and five cabinet ministers comfortably survived a vote of no confidence in parliament on Saturday as activists planned more protests against the government.

Update: Missing Dutch pensioner found alive

Manager reported that the 79 year old Dutch pensioner missing since Wednesday in Phetchaburi had been found alive and relatively unscathed in the Tha Yang area.

181 people over 60 among COVID-19 deaths in Thailand on Saturday

Thailand recorded 15,942 new COVID-19 cases and 257 more deaths today (Saturday), including 181 who were over 60 years old, according to the CCSA.

Dissident Pheu Thai MP abstains from censure vote against five ministers

Renegade Pheu Thai MP Sarunvuth Sarunkate, of Thailand’s northern province of Uttaradit, admitted today (Saturday) that he defied the party whip, to vote against Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, by abstaining in the vote on five other ministers this morning, following four days of censure debate.

Triple drug raid nets 1.5kg ya ice, 10k ya bah pills

PHUKET: Phuket Provincial Police have arrested four suspects in a slew of raids, with one arrest alone resulting in 1.5 kilograms of crystal meth (ya ice) and more than 9,100 pills methamphetamine (ya bah) being seized.

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has instructed hospitals nationwide to speed up the vaccination of half a million pregnant women, who are among those at high risk of COVID-19 infection.

Thai govt pays compensation to families of those who died after COVID vaccinations
