BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Department of Disease Control (DDC) has revealed data on fatalities and side effects after administering over 35 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by September 5th.

The DDC said 628 deaths were reported, of which 416 were determined by experts to not be related to the vaccination, and 249 cases were concomitant events caused by other conditions.

According to the data, 38 fatalities was reported among people who received Sinovac as the first shot and AstraZeneca as the second. Three of the cases were not related to the vaccines, 3 cases were inconclusive, while information is still being gathered in 32 cases.

Symptoms found after completing the combined vaccination include fever, headaches, vomiting, dizziness, nausea and muscle aches.

Among those who received AstraZeneca as a booster shot, after two shots of Sinovac, 3 people died. Two cases were reportedly irrelevant and information is being collected about one other fatality.

Symptoms found are similar to those seen the combined vaccination regime. As for the Pfizer booster dose, after two Sinovac doses, there were 3 fatalities.

One case is inconclusive, while 2 cases are still being investigated. Most of the symptoms found after the third shot were similar to other booster shots, but with rashes.

I had my second AZ shot in BKK last week.

The first shot several months back, I had about a day afterward of feeling achey and tired. This time on the second shot, almost no side effects whatsoever, except for a bit of soreness at the injection site for the first day. YMMV.

How do they know what side effects people get?  They never asked me anything after getting both shots.

My wife and I have both had 2 shots of AZ.  Each time they gave us a form to fill re side affects and return to the hospital after 2 weeks.

Just that released information, at face value, is less than worthless. No conclusions can be drawn whatsoever, which is probably why they didn’t release any conclusions along with the information.

Agreed.  The report could be worth considering if they advised how many deaths out of how many vaccinated? and with what? mix and match?  .  On their own they are not worth the print.  Hard to believe anyone would publish it as it is.

I think there was/is a section of the Mor Phrom App for reporting any side-effects.

Without a review of the raw data (i.e., autopsy reports, medical records, etc.) I would accept these results with a grain of salt.

Who do you think should review the raw data? You? Another TV member? The general public? Do you think it has not been reviewed by anyone?

Same as me. It seems normal for az - not much effect on the second shot. Just a sore arm and nothing else to speak of.

I believe the Mor Pror App asks Thais..... they don't care what happens to you.

Two cases are reported as irrelevant? Not to the people who died along with their families. Poor choice of words.

Irrelevant because the manufacturer is untouchable.

If you are using an app, there is a section with a survey of how you felt after each shot.

And if one is dead, what word would one use to describe how one feels?

How do you conclude they can’t because they didn’t ask you?

Exactly, every time there is Covid debates talking about studies, data etc- people say its useless without the raw data- as if they are experienced research medical data analysts and of course if they were given the chance to see the raw data, they would be able to extrapolate it all appropriately....
