Phuket marks 249 new COVID cases, deaths reach 40

PHUKET: The latest Phuket Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO) daily COVID situation report has marked 249 new local infections confirmed across the island yesterday (Sept 13) bringing the total number of people recognised as infected with COVID-19 in Phuket since Apr 3 to 7,353.

 

 

The PPHO report, marked as accurate as of 8:30pm last night, marked two new infections among Sandbox tourist arrivals, and one new death attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in Phuket attributed to COVID-19 since Apr 3 to 40.

 

Meanwhile, the 249 new local infections bring the total number of new local infections on the island in the past seven days to 1,626, as follows:

do they mean arrived with it or caught it in Phuket - either way if actual tourists what a bummer - holiday ruined now locked up

Have you got the link for checking Petchabun cases. I had it but can't find it.

Were the positive ‘Sandbox cases’ identified on the arrival test (taken at the airport) or on the day 6 or day 11 test ??? 
 

Was a second PCR test taken to eradicate the possibility of a false positive - seems a shame to ruin a holiday due to a test error.

Only 163 in ‘correctional facilities’ .., hmmmmm… 

 

Anyone else thinking they’ve stopped testing inmates ? Social distancing in Thai prisons is hardly a thing.

Phuket b ecoming a high risk place even concidering vaccination rate. Sandboxes should be shut ASAP, at least the whole idea has to be amended. ckearly id doesn't work, just watch Samui sandbox in a 2-3 weeks

It's Phipats dream scheme, they can't stop it now it would be such a thorn in the side to his plans to continue and do the same to other locations.
