Booster jabs for those who got two Sinovac doses to begin in October or sooner – Anutin

Featured Replies

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said today (Wednesday) that people already inoculated with two doses of the China’s Sinovac vaccine will be given the third booster jab soon in October or even sooner.

He did not, however, specify the new timing, adding that it will be up to the Disease Control Department.

Millions of people, including many foreign migrant workers, have been given two Sinovac doses and are waiting for a third booster jab of AstraZeneca viral vector vaccine, expected to commence in October. Recently, however, the Ministry of Public Health has adjusted its mix-and-match vaccination regimen by administering Sinovac for the first jab and AstraZeneca for the second.

Sounds like one is more worried about the image of getting a 3rd shot than being protected?   Getting a third shot this quickly tells you what public health authorities think of Sinovac

The younger ones have stronger immune system than the elderly.

Those politicians don't seem to know that it is our immune system that fights the virus and NOT the vaccine.

The vaccine only present a weak enemy so that we can train our immune system to fight it in the future.

Hopefully they are finally running out of the Chinese ones by now, and we can now start using effective vaccines for everyone.

As we all have known for many months that Delta ignores Sinovac, and it has limited health benefits compared to all the others, we could start to see some progress with dropping infection rates now, and work our way out of the top ten club of countries in the world with the highest Covid daily death counts.

I had two Sinovac. No thanks to Thai administered AZ as a third. Could never travel anywhere with looming covid passports.

Yeah, give paople in Bkk their jabs before all the people in Thailand got their first vax.  Good work. Probably been robbing the RTP´s regular Alco Pan Am Airways.

2 Sinovac vaccines and 1 Sinovac booster= how much protection and where can I travel to other than China?

Well not fair really, as NZ is now in a decision making process worried about what will happen when they and Australia open at 70% population vaccinated. Denmark has opened.

Israel having breakouts and hospitals under strain, from re-infected vaccinated population , they were the first country to achieve a high percentage population vaccination rate.

NZ and Aussie talking of the 3rd Jab, because the efficacy of vaccines are dropping and NZ uses Pfizer, so Delta is reinfecting vaccinated people and know they do not know what will happen when they open up.

India has 97.5% recovery from Delta, and case numbers are on the decline - in the 30k mark now so compared to Thailand, Indias population ,over a billion and Thailand with 12/15k cases a day at 65 million population, thats pretty good news..

Natural herd immunity is happening.

That being said the political salesman are now at the x- road as they know vaccines are not going to stop reinfection and they are going to have to look at how they treat hospital cases, (using drugs!!! wow!!) which have been very low in NZ, with one death from Delta (a 99 yr old women) since the outbreak.

But a group called the 500 doctors have signed a letter, joining themselves together and saying your 10 times more likely to die from Delta if you dont get vaccinated.

This was on RNZ news today, the interviewer failed to ask who generated the letter that they signed or questioned their knowledge of future side effects or how they got the 10 times more likely to die figures from.

Because that's not happening in India or Denmark. India today news publishes their recovery rates and natural immunity development almost every day, Denmark has publicly said we can open and we can cope , we are confident our Hospitals can handle the opening of Denmark.

Meanwhile Joe Biden has fired the Blame Cannon at the unvaccinated saying that the USA is a Pandemic of the unvaccinated.

A tad late I'd say, hospitals are 90% full with patients.

It's always about quantity not quality.

This guy seems to live in a bubble oblivious to reality.. There are out  millions without jabs…Yet

...not fair...you should be vaccinating at least 80% of your good people first.

Agreed and, with some vaccines, that future is not so far off hence the need for boosters.

The FDA said the booster shot is not really necessary; it just improves immunity. Why don’t they continue vaccinating those people who are still waiting for vaccines? Not those who've already gotten two doses.
At least can boost the vaccination rates.

Seems a bit like oh let’s copy other countries and it will make us seem smart ! Help if they had actually vaccinated the population at least once before spouting off again !

Yet they still order this particular vaccine by the millions why ?

Maybe Ring them.

Tell them "I'm the Health Minister, any idea when those booster shots will be rolled out?".

He's always dodging any responsibility.

Bangkok has the highest population density and the highest infection and death rates. It makes sense to target areas like this first. Rural areas where close contact is considerably reduced and infection rates much lower are a lower priority. Targeting the most vulnerable should be prioritised within those areas.

You clearly know better than the science and medical communities. Please share your advice as to what we should do, I trust you more than those pesky experts

instead of panic you should have waited there is more to come

Because..…the Chinese embassy has declared that it is a quality vaccine. The fact that China gives generous kickbacks on vaccine purchases has nothing to do with it.

yes just got back from phuket and the cleaning lady told me she was getting 3rd dose yesterday of Astra.

There will be no end to this. Ten years from now the govt will be demanding booster shots.
