Strange. My browser (Firefox ESR) tells me that the certificate is valid till November 5th!

Edit: Add screenshot off certificate

You could always add an exception (just have a look under "advanced"

Ps: Is the date and time of your PC correct?

Edit 2: Have a look at this link:

https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/net-err_cert_date_invalid/

On advanced site page comes up can get notifications but can't respond to anything.

Also this

Shall I try a system restore?

Steps of action IMHO (before Sys Restore)

1- Check the date and time of your PC

2- Is your Browser up to date?

3- Is your PC up to date?

4- Virus scan!

Edit:

5- Do you have another browser installed (Edge, Firefox etc) and does it give the same error message?

I'm not very good with computer tech but as follows.

Date and time correct.

Browser I guess you mean Google chrome which I have with Enhanced protection and it is up to date.

Not sure what you about my PC everything works good except ANF .

Google chrome says I'm fully protected when checking.

I don't think I have any other than Google if thats what you mean by browser.

Question please: What OS / version does your PC have? Do you know how to do Check for Updates?

Edit: Another 2 questions please

1- When you go to Google.com in your Browser do you get the Same error?

2- Do you know how to clear the cache in your browser?

Thanks for your time and patience.

I have Windows 7 home premium and windows they don't updates anymore.

Google.com comes up straight away no problem.

I can clear Cookies and there's Clear cache as well, I normally just go History and clear browsing data only and then click on the systems check which checks  virus, passwords etc.

Can I ask a question

Why can I get anything I want on my computer from my true internet supplier e.g. emails, facebook, netflix, my bank in UK, etc etc but can't get aseannow.com without the warning.

Probably because of my latest post, they are not protected by Let's Encrypt and Aseannow is!

Question for the techies around here

Do you know a way to update the Root Certificate on Windows 7 PC's (in a easy way so that a non-techie understands it)?

Edit: Found this, but no idea how accurate

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/support-for-urgent-trusted-root-updates-for-windows-root-certificate-program-in-windows-a4ac4d6c-7c62-3b6e-dfd2-377982bf3ea5

Edit2: I found the latest authrootstl.cab but want to know if the OP can run certutil!

Location of the authrootstl.cab is

http://ctldl.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab

Do you know how to start a DOS Command Prompt?

If so, do it and type

certutil -?

I guess I can from start up but I don't want to mess my computer up just for one site causes a problem.

There's good computer shop in town it might be to show them and see if they help do you think that will be best.

Your issue seems to be, because you have an OLD OS, that your Root Certificates (the ones that validate if you have a REAL HTTPS connection) are OUT-OF-DATE.

You could bring it to a Computer Shop, but they will (should) check the same thing and that is if you have a program called "Certutil" on your version of Windows. If so, then you or they can update the Root Certificates in some easy steps!

Why not just upgrade to Windows 10 Pro instead of running an outdated OS that you don't have the ability to manage?

Forgot to add,

if you are not worried about that sites that are protected (read show HTTPS) by Let's Encrypt give you an Error Message (like the one you are getting), then you could just ignore it of course and do nothing, but that's entirely up 2 u ????

Thanks again for you help and patience, the shop has a good reputation I bought my Asus from them and the windows 7 is what they set up on it.

No problem. But please don't let them install a Fake Windows version just to get rid of the issue, you could be getting more problems IMHO then bargained for!

I probably wouldn't know how to manage that either.

The computer works fine on everything else it's only AN that is making it difficult.

"It works fine" on the surface. You simply have no understanding of how insecure your interactions and won't until something happens.

You only know of this Root Certificate issue because of AN.

There is good reason why your phone works and that is because being up to date takes care of some of the things of which you have no knowledge.

If you are resistant to moving, then at least learn how to keep Windows 7 updated. Windows 7 IS still getting updates, but you need to know how to download and install them.

With Windows 10, you won't need to have that specialist knowledge.

It's like you saying that no one has broken in to steal your lawn mower yet, even though the door is open.

Root Certificate are there to stop people from tricking you into interacting with cloned websites.

Upgrading is free and even a product key no more than a couple of hundred baht.

The problem being that the shops cannot even be bothered to use a product key, so they activate it in a not permanent way; storing up trouble for you later.

It is sooooo easy to do it yourself with simple guidance from people here.

Advice Computer stores are huge in LOS. I paid 300bht for Windows 10 Pro there.

Looks like they use their business electronic key..Been fine for a couple of years, in fact Windows installed updates this morning. In Windows verification it says all OK, something like that..

I found a way to install the new Root Certificates on his PC (Any comments from the Techies ???)

Pre-requisites are:

1- "CERTUTIL" must be installed

2- Must be able to load a Admin Command Prompt

Steps

1- Download the Certs from here and place them in a easily accessible directory

http://ctldl.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab

2- Unzip the stl cab file (any unzipper should work)

2- Start the Admin CMD prompt, change to the directory where the STL is located and run the following

certutil -addstore -f root authroot.stl

Let me rephrase your problem in Car/Bike related terms as you know a lot about that. (not completely accurate but you get the meaning I think)

Your PC currently is NOT allowed into Certain Cities, when you drive into them the Engine sputters and you have to do some tinkering to get it started again. When going to other cities it's no problem.

You could solve this in 3 ways

1- Upgrade your Engine (New OS)

2- Fiddle with the Management System (install new certificates)

3- Ignore it and live with it!

????????

That's a great way to tell this old spanner so I understand. ????

You've been great, if you ever come to the Old City give me a shout I'll buy ya beer. ????

Thanks for your concern but this has only just happened, I'd rather use the shop they good people I know this because my son knows them and he is into computers and isn't coming up from Bkk for a good while.

I haven't been there for years since I bought the Asus laptop computer haven't needed too.
