Not sure what century youre  in but  all  cars  have fuel  injection.

And I'm not sure why you are over here in the "Electric vehicles of all kinds" discussion. Strange.

No doubt, your buddies over in the flat earth thread could use your input.

I have to agree that the grid in Thailand is one of the dirtiest in the world. However, Thailand is one of best places to install solar  - it is close to the equator so gets great solar all year round. Labour rates are very low, so it's cheap to have your panels fitted.

For every ฿100,000 invested in solar you save approximately ฿1,000 per month off your electric bill. That same ฿100,000 sat in the bank at the current interest rate of about 0.5%  would give you ฿42 a month of interest to put towards you electric bill. That's why I installed solar to charge my car and power my house

I recently had a drone out to do some work.

20kg payload and i thought it performed to about 60% of what manufacturer stated.

The battery tech has improved but still a fair way off so it's a rich man's toy for a few more years yet.

Personally i will review the cars in 10 years time when my ice vehicle is due for replacement.

I'm sorry if you think i was trolling,i was adding my personal experience and thoughts.

I have no interest in solar,i do have an interest in the progression of electric vehicles.

Don't think referring to you.  Reference to someone on my ignore list (seedy) that was quoted with silly photos.

If people don't want solar and or an EV, for whatever reason, fine.  It, both just works for me.  But when trying to reason why solar & EV don't / won't work, with silly reason & examples, they simply show their ignorance, or trolling.

Anyone that can afford a nicer SUV (Fortuner) can afford an EV and solar system at home.  Be self sufficient, and hell, even sell excess back to the power company in some countries, helping support the grid for those who solar might be impractical for.

DISCLAIMER:  previous photo of solar & car not mine, posted earlier by another in this thread.  Just using as example, in Thailand & affordable.

Wonder how many EV's will sell in Africa ?

https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/countries-with-the-lowest-access-to-electricity.html

940 million people do not have access to electricity globally

That is 12% - zero access. Many more have reduced access

https://ourworldindata.org/energy-access

All this talk about how EV's, PHEV's, Hybrids, etc etc are going to save the world - only applies to people in the West who can afford them.

The rest of the world - especially South America, Africa, and Asia - not a chance.

And what percentage of the world's autos are currently being purchased by people so poor that they haven't got electricity?

As for Asia...

Did you actually look at the page you linked to? Asia hardly figures and South America not at all. Basically, it's all about Africa.

Hi  Bandersnatch,

Have you done any amount of driving in the rain and through pools of water yet.

I personally won't drive any vehicle here through water higher than 10cm or the low rubber side of the tire.   Reason...most wheel bearings on cars are NOT seal here.  Already had to replace a few on my Toyota or Mazda, forget which.

Everyone knows water & electric don't mix, so surely precautions are made.  Was trying to find one vid I saw, Thailand, guy submerges his whole scooter in stream and runs the motor.  Impressive.

And this is 3 yrs old ... wonder if any advancements since ????

Asia ... just China & India account for 35% of the world population

No market there ... ????????????

But it's only a glimmer. Electric vehicle sales - 121,900 this financial year - account for only 1.66% of India's 20 million automobile sales

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-58977080

As of 2020, there were over 0.9 million of new battery electric vehicles (BEV) sold in China.

China population - The current population of China is 1,446,660,472 as of Thursday, October 28, 2021

The current population of India is 1,397,902,013 as of Thursday, October 28, 2021

https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/china-population/

EV Fanatics really need to get their craniums removed from their posteriors.

Awaiting the expected "sales are predicted, battery tech on the drawing board, expected to be ... and the crown jewels - Tesla predicts"

Seems more than one flew over the cuckoos nest

Hi  Bandersnatch,

Have been driving the car all through this past rainy season and it has been very wet. The regen breaking gives great confidence in the wet. I simply lift my foot off the accelerator pedal and the electric motor recharges and slows the car down, no chance of locking up. With battery weight low down it makes the car feel very stable in the corners. And yes diving through big puddles has not been a problem

In the newspaper we are not allowed to quote, they write that The Finance Ministry stands ready to approve measures to promote the use of electric vehicles (EV), which is expected to significantly bring down the prices of imported EVs, said a source on the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee.

This is supposedly taking place from 1 Jan 2022.

Interesting for sure.
