The chief of the Thai tourist police used the occasion of a training exercise about Thailand's reopening to announce the arrest of a couple of Romance Scammers.

For a change the man was not a Nigerian but a Nepali who had obtained Thai ID. He was named as Jiak, 32, who used to be called Mr Shyam.

A woman called Natchaya, 39, was also arrested. Ban Muang details were scant but related to the normal practice of online victims paying bogus excise duties on incoming parcels from their supposed love interest.

Chief Lt-Gen Sukhun Ponmayon reminded the press that his force was there 24/7 for tourists and the Thai public on 1155 especially now that Thailand was about to open up again to foreigners.

Nice to see Fatty, back with the vinyl display. I've missed those.????

You mean 24/7 we'll be accepting your cash donation now you come back Felang ATM.

Not a Nigerian ????

But Those Negros have the copyright? ????

As usual, it's completely unclear what arresting a romance scammer has to do with the Tourist Police mission of protecting and assisting Thai and foreign tourists...every part of the Thai Police seems to do whatever it wants these days (or whatever will get its leaders into the news).

And you will get the answer ''Line busy" if after 10pm on a Sat Night. please get your nearest police station's phone number and they might come the next day at around 10 am. Oh and don't expect them to finger print anything whatsoever.
