Nationwide ban on public gatherings declared in Thailand from Nov 1

To pre-empt protests by anti-government groups, which may disrupt Thailand’s reopening to foreign travellers on Monday, Armed Forces Commander General Chalermpol Srisawat, who is in charge of overseeing security during the current “emergency situation”, issued a ban on Thursday on public gatherings or activities which may risk the spread of COVID-19 or increase public suffering.

 

The announcement, which has been published in the Royal Gazette, will be enforced across the country. It cites the necessity for economic recovery, rehabilitation, the improvement of the livelihoods of the people and the need to build confidence among foreign tourists that they will be safe from COVID-19 during their stay in the country.

 

Violations, upon conviction, will be subject to two years imprisonment and/or a fine of no more than 40,000 baht.

We got the Pattaya Music Festival and Fireworks Competition planned in Pattaya.... most certainly large gatherings

This action is purely political and has no relationship to Covid 19. New outbreak may be called Prayut 21.and is highly contagious so stop the gatherings.

That will be everyone arrested and jailed at Chiang Mai immigration whilst trying to obtain a visa then or is this exempt from spreading covid ????

The Virus comes in handy for the government to finish with the anti-government protests . 5

The Virus greatly helps ( military ) governments with autocratic tendencies to impose new regulations that help to oppress and control the masses . Just look at China .

What will be the future ? Brainwashed and remote controlled ...? Personal infos incl. financials all accessed by government hackers and used to blackmail people ?

Unfortunately Covid has set a precedent which will be very difficult (or impossible) to escape from. It will, if not has already, be used to manipulate masses because the majority of people has already been conditioned. We are in this for a very very long time.

I think they're referring to their own declared State of Emergency, most recently extended for a fourteenth time through 30 November 2021.

No clue why they need to gazette additional "orders"? The "authorities" have many "laws" which can be used on protesters.

 

Odd that this wasn't an issue when the minions shutdown Bangkok in 2014?

 

 

 

There has of course been a State of Emergency in the four restive southern provinces since 2005, most recently extended through 19 December 2021.
