Ban Yaeng police in the Nakhon Thai district of Phitsanulok in the north of Thailand were called after a body was found 100 meters from the road leading to the village of Huay Sai Neua.

The area is 500 meters from a popular scenic viewing point.

The man, aged about 50, was found with two black bags tied round his head secured with black rope at the neck, reported Sanook.

His jeans and underpants had been pulled around his ankles and there was a four centimeter gash on his left facial cheek.

It was reckoned that he had been dead for 12 hours; it was now 1 pm.

Police believe he may be a Hmong tribesman and was murdered elsewhere and brought to the undergrowth in an effort to conceal the crime.

Investigations continue.
