This is great information to be certain.

My question is why would anyone be using Hotmail?!

Meh it's an old address that's like 20 years old, don't really care of the user interface since i use apps like outlook and so on.

This site is a nightmare and did not work for the last two days. You would input lists of data and certs and then it would show an API server error and that was it! It was impossible to put children in. The Tune insurance would not take infants under 1 year old. The docs had to be JPEG a and it would not accept TIFF or PDF files.
I tried Google chrome, Mozilla, Edge, Safari and none would work.

Finally was able to get the Sucess page today, but no acknowledgement email after 6 hours.

After I registered, I didn’t receive any email confirmation. Does this mean my application didn’t go thru?

Quite possibly. If you are not in a hurry, give it a couple of days and start the process again. If it is urgent don’t waste time and register ASAP

Weird site though. Wouldn't work with Chrome but did with Edge which is now based on Chrome yet other people have no issues. Anyway, easy to use but a huge issue with excepted document only in JPEG, PNG etc but not PDF which means all documents consisting of a single page has to be uploaded individually. Appreciate most people don't have scanners so to take a picture with your phone is easier, hence the image style formats but, most sent documents from hotel booking to insurance policies, flight details etc are in PDF format. Personally I think that is a massive mistake excluding PDF format.

Also for Thai Nationals Thailand Pass the final section is insurance which they don't need. It wont let you complete the application for submission until you enter Start Date, Policy Number, coverage amount etc NAD upload something. I just copied the section from the Thailand Website stating Thai do not need insurance, saved as a JPEG and uploaded that. Seems like the programmers forgot to remove the entire section on Insurance when you select Returning Thai National. Perhaps it will be removed at some point when enough complain but then again I haven't had the actual pass come through yet!!

Also asking for the 1st dose vaccine confirmation.

A bunch of people i know have thrown away that page the moment they received the 2nd dose / vaccine pass as the 1st dose page was now totally useless.

Now the issue with the 2nd dose confirmation / vaccine pass is that it doesn't say when the first dose was injected and the vaccine centers can no longer issue that page.

Of the 40 K applicants, it will be interesting to see just how many will transition into actual arrivals.

Many will apply, just hedging bets on their Vacation destination, and with it being a buyers market, they will play it out until the last minute for actual Flights Etc.

WordPerfect wasn't a bad little word processing program actually.  I learned my first spread sheeting using Suercalc on a 14" green screen with no mouse, a 386 with 640k and 20M of memory. That was when you had to actually know math to write the equations - I was counting open/close brackets in my sleep.

I asked the predecessor of the IT specialist (known as The Computer Guy) if he could upgrade it to 1M of RAM - he asked me what the hell I was gonna do with a Super Computer.  When I told him it was because Larry the Lounge Lizard was playing a bit slow, he saw my reasoning.

Looks just as difficult as before?

I would say much more difficult. COE process was simpler. You could submit .pdf. And, if you had an issue, you could contact your local Thai embassy to resolve it.

That's fantastic.

"Approving" about 6500 out of about 40,000 applications.

Yes, soon they will be spending their gazillions of pounds/euros/dollars etc, and spreading their wealth into every pocket and corner of Thailand.

Or maybe not! I'm an eternal optimist, when I see and hear about Thailand's "plans/ideas/Thailand Pass/C.O.E....when I look at into how many hoops must be jumped through, just to be allowed into a country, with many, many ,millions of its people not fully vaccinated, and many of those vaccinated are with?   shall we say inferior vaccines?

Then when they do finally manage to arrive into the magical kingdom, what awaits them? Not much in the way of fun and entertainment etc to be honest. Which lets face it, I'm assuming that's what holiday makers are looking for in the first place?

As Ive mentioned, I'm an eternal optimist, but I despair with each and every passing day, about the future of tourism and more so, for the millions of poor Thais who rely (or should that be relied?) on tourism.  Its (tourism that is) is dying a slow and painful death, not at all helped by the idiotic antics /ideas/plans/requirements blah blah blah. just to even apply to get there. Let alone the travelling etc, then when they get to the airport? They will be met by officials going totally over the top with the haz mat wearing "officials" etc etc.

At the end of the day? I "assume" the vast majority of tourists entering Thailand are well vaccinated? I " assume" they are coming from countries, with way better vaccination levels than Thaialand?  I "assume" they will have been taking covid tests  before even flying etc etc etc?

Then they arrive at the airport to be met with all the palaver they have to face?!!!

Amazing Thailand indeed.

I appreciate and understand that "face is everything in Thailand.  What I don't understand though, is that if face is that important in Thailand. how come they don't realise that with all the totally over the top antics/hoop jumping etc . they are looking like a laughing stock world wide?

Serious question, Is this "face" thing only relevant about what Thais think abut Thais? Doesnt it count if the rest of the world can see what a bunch of rubbish this all is, and they are losing? " face" worldwide?

I was hoping to be able to get back to Thailand in the new year, probably February time, Im a real "fan" of Thailand...but even as much as I desperately want to go back there? No way will I be going back when all these "requirements" etc, are still needed, and many places aren't open, not able to get a drink blah blah blah

So the way I look at it? If a  real "fan boy" like me, wont put up with all this nonsense..just to get back there,?  what chance a "normal/first time to Thailand tourist etc." will go there?

Amazing indeed!

Sorry...! rant over!

I'm in exactly the same position and mind-frame as you !!

The process of compliance in the submission of the request for Registration is excruciating. I’m trying to get back to Bangkok and my condominium, home for 30 years, on a Non-Immigrant B visa. I am traumatised by the whole debilitating exercise. The Thai bureaucracy, for the very people they say they wish to attract to Thailand to live, is crushing my will to live there. I now want to get back to Thailand to sell my condo and leave the kingdom forever. I can’t take it anymore.

I sent my request for the Thailand Pass Registration two days ago and received an acknowledgement within hours. Now the wait for approval and stressful ‘next steps.’. Flights and the one night arbitrary hotel ‘quarantine’ and Covid Tests are paid for, as required. It feels like Russian Roulette. You make your flight or you don’t!

Well I do, and never had a problem. I’ll certainly be asking around from, applicants, ( hundreds on FB) to find out if this really is a problem.  Loads of messages saying they never got through, or never got the email, or passport number problem . Then lots saying after the umpteenth try , they got through. So the hotmail of op could have been just a moment .

So 32,000 applicants have their plans held up, and 6,000 people got lucky.

I am seeing some people with flight dates a month away getting instant approvals, and people flying soon have nothing but a confirmation email. Generally, if you get a confirmation email, but not instant approval, your application is in the ether.

10,000 apps on first day, only 400 approvals.

so, it’s 10,000 apps filed every day, 1500 approvals.

Sounds like a 7 day turnaround to me.

What it if means that their capacity to approve applications is capped around 1,500/day? More than that number are applying each day. So, every day that happens, there is an increasing backlog which will steadily increase the time from application to final processing.

I've got confirmation from another user here that his @hotmail account didn't work too but after submitting with his @gmail.com account it was fine.

I would hazard a guess it's all the Scandinavian + others that spend 6 months in Thailand coming back , they are quite happy with their nice condos on the golf course and the local club,

They will be glad to get out of the madness in Europe , which is now having heaps of protests against mandated vaccination to keep their jobs .

That makes sense - if you're part of a couple / family group, the lack of bars etc won't be important. (Not like we naughty boys at all ????????)

As for the idiots protesting ...eventually they'll either see sense, be forced to stay locked down or simply not be there if Covid gets them! Som nam na!

Did you use a @hotmail.com address or a @hotmail.xxxx address ?

Ha ha  wrong. Fine if only 10.000 ever apply but after 10 weeks with 700,000 applications and only 1,500 approvals per day  there'll be a 400 day turnaround.

That is not the case in UK - both the downloaded and printed records show both vaxxes: Vaccine type, batch number, date and location.

I'm hopeful that after getting my booster (sometime in the next 10 days or so) it will then show all 3.

But in any event, why would anyone throw something like that away? File it all "just in case"

Well good for you, not the case here, or at least when i was vax.

Also the first vaccine confirmation wasn't even printed / doubled in English (the 2nd was)
