Thai virologist Dr Yong Poovorawan put out his Christmas Day message update about Omicron.

 

He confirmed data that is coming out of Europe that the variant is very fast in its transmission.

 

He said that Omicron cases in Thailand would surpass Delta in a short space of time.

 

It's easy to catch he said but the good news is that it does not appear to be severe.

 

He stressed that no vaccine can assure that you will not catch the virus. 

 

He urged everyone who is eligible to get booster shots to mitigate symptoms.

 

Thailand recently changed the rules for booster shots (third dose) from six months after the second to just three in an effort to combat Omicron, reported INN
