Well, by now we know some things:

Eating indoors at restaurants is a significant way that Covid spreads

Omicron has begun it's rapid spread in Thailand. It spreads much much quicker than previous variants.

Yes, it is milder but even people "fully" vaccinated or even boosted will still easily get infected.

So ... have you / will you change your restaurant eating behavior because of Omicron?

and how do you know it is omicrom ?

Not sure what you're getting at, but at this point Delta is still dominant in Thailand but it's only a matter of time (maybe a month) before Omicron is dominant here based on what's happening in other countries. Of course you can get Delta eating in restaurants but Omicron is much, much more infectious and much much likely to get breakthrough vaccine infections.

In November, I went out to dinner in Phoenix, AZ with my daughter and son-in-law.

All of us are 3xs vaxxed (and flu vaxxed) so didn't wear masks.

Were not expecting the restaurant to be busy.

Tuesday night first week in November, place was hoppin', no masks in sight.

I had been in AZ for a week and was getting used to low mask participation, didn't think about it at all.

2 days later was coughing, weak, sore throat. Had Covid test and it was negative. Retested as I remained sick, but was still negative for PCR test.

3+ weeks of illness, flu symptoms followed by bacterial infection. 1 antibiotic treatment that failed  to help, 2nd antibiotic made a difference.  Missed 3+ weeks of work and as I am self-employed so 3+ weeks of income.

So the flu is still out there, as are other bugs, pretty sure I caught it at the restaurant that night, although can't be sure.

No agenda or recommendations, just my experience.

Not sure what the moral of the story is, but I generally don't go out much so I am not really gonna change my behavior.

But flu has not gone away.

You can't wear a mask when you're eating and drinking.

Also given how infectious Omicron is, masks are less protective than before and you really need a high quality mask worn properly and in real life the vast majority of people are not doing that.

ABC News reports that 3 Americans are contracting Covid/Omicron every second in the States.

It's fair to conclude that even when restaurants are open for indoor dining, plenty of people are quite sensibly still not going. Of course at least some of that lost business can be replaced with delivery. Thailand offers wonderful values for food delivery in urban areas so that is likely to remain a popular option regardless.

I don't believe the BS, and usually eat indoors.  Nothing to fear from either.  Breathing air doesn't scare me, been doing it all my life.  Two restaurants I frequent closed for short time due to infected staff.  I still eat there also.

I prefer to eat outdoors and try to social distance wherever I go.

Recently went to a place with a large patio sat down, only person there. Then some guy, mask under his nose, plops down in the closest seat AND he fires up a cigarette. Can only assume he's brain dead..., probably watches Fox too.

Thanks for the heads up -- I would have continued as normal to have an eat-in restaurant meal maybe 1-2x a week... but it is easy to see why to get take home or just do supermarket and stay home.. I think I have become numb to the news lately.

I cut down on eating out because of the food being served. Most places where I live have little or no customers so it's like eating leftovers. The rice was hard as a rock in the last place I ate, days old. Better to stay home and cook for yourself

I've made changes for Covid in general, dining out less frequently, but I won't make any further changes for Omicron specifically.

Yes, and I go to a bar with live music. I had 2 jabs and a booster so did all I could. The question is not IF I will be infected with Covid but WHEN. If I want to avoid it I have to live in a cave or a deserted island, something I don't want. So I take reasonable precautions but else... let it be.

Unless people plan to stop breathing there is about a 0% chance anyone can avoid catching it.

Mandates from the masters.?

Haven't been dining out of home since Omicron - there are too delicious gourmet food in the house - so I've not even considered the risk. I probably would act as normal under the present situation, but how I'll act next year, only the gods know at this time, so I havn't cast any vote...????

I don't eat at restaurants very much because it's cheaper to buy food and cook at home.

Overall I'd say I eat about the same amount in restaurants now than I did before, at most a couple of time a month.

I've been vaxxed and I'm not worried about covid, I have none of the risk factors that other people might need to worry about.

I woke up this morning. A true blessing. I didn't get in a taxi or get on a Thai road, more blessings. I've changed very few of my ways in life except that I wear a mask. It makes others feel more comfortable. If I have a cough, sore throat, I stay home. I use the alcohol gels, but not crazy with them. I hope you all stay healthy, but get your affairs in order and that means with your future (after death????), too.

Good to see a large majority are eating out as normal.

Just had lunch with old friend at Sizzler on Monday. We hadn't seen each other since maybe June/July. My wife and son are out all the time. (They don't invite me. ????) Actually, I don't want to go because they are gone all day.

..... 'How dare you place others at risk by resorting to your self-centred need to socialise'....

I suspect such a tone is the underlying objective of this thread, thinly veiled as a poll !!!!....
