Popular Post webfact
By Goong Nang(GN) Pattaya – Pattaya Countdown 2022 began last night (December 29th). Unfortunately, only as estimated by Pattaya Law Enforcement, less than two hundred people experienced the concerts at the event zone at the Bali Hai Pier. The low attendance was primarily because of the requirement of not only being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to even get near the stage but also to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test within the past 72 hours with a doctor’s note/signature. These unusually strict procedures were ordered by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration, or CCSA, earlier in the month. Prior events in Pattaya since November have only required one or the other, but not both, which seemed to majorly impact attendance. The Pattaya City Mayor Sontaya Kunplome officially opened the festival. People who wanted to join in the event zone MUST have completed at least double doses of a qualified Covid – 19 vaccines AND show proof of a recent Covid-19 ATK test with a doctor’s note. Popular Post Thaiwrath
So the Bali High event had very few attendees, due to silly restrictions imposed to supposedly prevent the spread of Covid, however, in other places like. Treetown, it was very busy, with people in some places packed in like sardines ! Sort of defeats the object ! 9

Popular Post redwood1
That no one attended is not amazing, what's amazing is that 200 people actually went and got a note from their doctor so they could sit in the highly controlled orwellian zone.....Just to see some lame bands..... Also these chairs sure do not look 6 feet apart to me.... Edited December 30, 2021 by redwood1 6 1

spidermike007
Why not require hazmat suits and booties too? Hey, if you are buying in, might as well buy in all the way!
Popular Post Skeptic7
People would go and spend money and enjoy, but for all the covidiocy. ALL other open venues without covidiocy requirements are packed. Beer bars and restaurants last night in Jomtien were off the hook. It's more than a year past time to accept it and learn to live with it. Alas, it ain't gonna happen. Expecting shutdowns and lockdowns and travel restrictions and curfews again soon. Happy New Fear all over again! ???? Edited December 31, 2021 by Skeptic7 5

They have been opened for 10 days now and I personally know many people who have gotten coviid. They used the home test and after they are just staying home not reporting it and not caring about who they may have infected. They are scared to go into the 14 day mandatory quarantine and health monitoring. Cases in Pattaya have sky rocketed, and the police are keeping quiet as they have gotten tea money like crazy. I suspect Bangkok is the same. There is no way you can pack so many people into bars and not have this happen. In my condo, foreigners refuse to wear masks in the lifts. Mark my words, we will be in lockdown by January 15 and no bars will be allowed to open legally as promised. People have ruined everything for the sake up 2 weeks of partying and making money. It will be locked down again for another year. Som Nam Na I say!!!! 3 3
Isaan sailor
Of course I feel badly for the authorities who planned this event. But nut just Pattaya suffers, and not just Thailand suffers.

The idea that lockdowns, social-distancing and mask wearing can stop this is ridiculous. 1

I don't think that was ever the idea.... some may have believed it was. Another variant would have to be more contagious to displace Omicron. The beginning of the end, I hope.
