This dude was a living legend who not only influenced a whole generation of artists, including the Stones and many other greats, but he laid a foundation for them, IMO.

I do now....what an amazing story this guy is. He lives in Detroit, where he purchased a rundown home at gov't auction for $50 - where he still lives today - he's worth $5 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), but even more amazing is how he became more popular than Elvis outside of the US in places like S. Africa and how he mesmerizes the huge crowds he draws. I saw his 2013 Glastonbury gig on YT and he still has awesome skill and a great sense of humor - even at 70.

Absolutely some one who deserved to be a top performer but for some reasons the US never recognized him.One of my favorite artists,just an amazing guy.
