So long time since I've been up to UT.

Are the bars open again February.

Meaning Day Night area and places like Sports Bar.

Must have done it tough. Guess few have closed permanently?

My go to was Zan Zee bar.

Zan Zee bar was demolished. It's now part of Bangkok Hospital (major renovation/expansion which is ongoing). Day and Night is mostly shut. 2 or 3 beers are able to operate, I think because they have a food license. All the other bars in there have been closed for a long time now. It seems like Day and Night has been punished the most. That said, Udon Thani nightlife is really coming back to life. Still going pretty strong.

Some bars open in Day and Night and on same Soi...Samphan Thamit Alley. Surely elsewhere too. Was just there for a week and always stay at Pannarai or Centara. If looking for excellent Italian...do try da Sofia, also on same Soi. Tell Manfred I sent ya! ????

Thanks for your post.

Just an aside note: Yes I'm aware of the bar area that was demolished long ago on land owned by Bangkok hospital.

Zan Zee bar is in Day Night complex. Second bar on left.

Oz owner.

My bad. I confused the names. What was the name of the demolished bar? Was something similar.

Zappas Bar? Something like that!

Rings a bell. I didn't drink in that row of bars.

Last time I was there just pre covid.

Nutty Park was dying/dead.

Day/Night very quiet.

Years ago you would get some folk staying there doing visa runs and the like.

Then pretty much only locals.

I was just curious the current situation.

Always found it relaxed place.

Let's face it. Most bar areas decimated.

I hear White Sand bars on Koh Chang dead.

Saw first hand the bars in Pattaya (Soi 7-8 area) dead.

Wonder how many bar owners went under.

I was in UT 22/23 Jan. Stay at Pannarai Hotel. The row of Bars are all open. Had dinner at Brick House.????

Good food at the Brick house especially the English breakfast , also good for watching footy in the evening as they have many televisions . I have also had good meals in the Pannarai , nice hotel . I preferred UT over Pattaya when pre covid days 2 or 3 years ago .

Same applies for bars in Soi Bindabaht and surrounding Soi's in Hua Hin, tragic really, I used to frequent Udon Thani, but sounds depressing now.

FORGOT...Nutty Park was quite open and quiet good, especially the inside bars. Last year dead in there, but last month busy with some very tasty "morsels" too! Was pleasantly surprised. ????

Good to hear some bars have opened again as it's a nice weekend alternative from the slog down south to Bangkok or Pattaya etc from where I live in Yaso.

Might give it a try soon and report back.

Would appreciate a report.

I assume Dave's Sports Bar is open.

So much change over last couple of years ...I think of the song something along the lines .."I'm still standing..."

Sadly many businesses have gone down the s.shoot.

Dave’s Sports Bar is open, but be careful of a French Canadian chap by the name of Johnny. The last time I was in there he was nicking my beer and doing cartwheels and back flips while singing “Ca Plein Pour Moi”
