A 26-year-old ‘Big Bike’ rider has been pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into a power pole in the Mueang Chonburi district last night (February 13th).

The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the accident at 11:00 P.M. on the New Bridge Road in the Bang Plasoi sub-district.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the body of the driver, Mr. Nayramit, 26. Nearby, police found a damaged CBR 500 cc ‘Big Bike’ motorbike and a damaged power pole. A helmet was found lying on the ground nearby and it was not immediately clear if it came off during the accident or if it was not being worn.

Mr. Pranchai, 30, a pedestrian, had sustained leg injuries during the incident, believing he was “clipped” by Nayramit. He told police, “While I was using a crosswalk, an unknown vehicle clipped me, knocking me down.”

Certainly does not matter as in most of these type accidents sadly, he would be dead even with it on.

Important details only found in the article (four bikes racing e.g.).  Car changing lane...

This bridge does not tolerate much wrongdoing. Cheap and dangerous.

No proper division of the lanes with low concrete edges, poles on the middle (cheaper than each on both sides outside the railing).

Now think what happens when you slide/fall with a two wheeler on the right lane.

Even flying off the bridge with a four wheeler is easy done. Low railings.

I'm scared enough on the Thai roads on the motorbike taxi from the dark side to immigration every 90 days, let alone go out and race on them  !

Have you ever thought about having a songkow driver on the line for a 200 baht charter ???

Another pedestrian crossing accident... this time the rider lost.

Nothing wrong at all if people drive properly. A long straight road really shouldn't be too difficult to negotiate without crashing into the opposite lane or off the side.

RIP sad loss of life ,due to idiot thai driving standards. helmet like many carry on handle bars IF NEEDED FOR

EMERGENCY  !!!!!
