Police Major Yossawat Srilaphat of the Thanyaburi police and Poh Teck Tung foundation responded after a married couple on a motorcycle suffered grievous injuries going home from a funeral.

Siam Rath had a grisly picture with a lot of blood on the tarmac.

At the scene on the Rangsit to Nakhon Nayok Road inbound were Prasan, 59, and Pramuan, 57, a husband and wife.

They were given first aid then taken to Thanyaburi Hospital.

A Yamaha Lexi was toppled over at the scene.

Phollaphat, 28, a witness said the couple had just been to a funeral and were on their way home.

They hit a motorcycle with sidecar that had run out of gas and was parked by the central divider.

In the confusion the driver of that vehicle fled the scene and the police are now looking for that person.

Grizzly scenes indeed…

But, hitting a stationary vehicle parked on the side of the rd….  :whistling:

It is these incidents brought about by an utter lack of attention combined with a total absence of understanding of consequences which make the road stats look so appalling for us motorcyclists…

The vast majority of incidents which contribute to the high road fatality and accident stats are incidents we’d avoid by simply paying attending & using sense (i.e. not riding at night, or while drunk, not speeding, not running lights, wearing helmets, not using our phone… & paying attention to our surroundings).

Yes, it pays to read a report properly before commenting. Great place to park, hmm?

Indeed, i missed the part where it mentioned ‘parked by the central devise’…

Still, hitting a stationary vehicle…

More easily done if not paying attention because it’s so unexpected.

Motorcycle and sidecar parked by the central divider as had run out of fuel. Then the owner of said vehicle does a runner. Why not move it then go for fuel.........................or is it just me ?

It may have just happened, the rider of the sidecar was still with the vehicle (before he fled after the incident).

It could have been a broken down car, lorry etc….

The motorcyclist plowed into a stationary vehicle….

….. how ?… he’s been at a funeral & had very likely been drinking.
