Popular Post LosLobo Posted September 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2022 A couple of interesting tweets from Julia Davis. In one the propagandists are now claiming that they are virtually fighting for peace. I have always thought that the concept was mutually exclusive. In the other they are arguing among themselves. Their military experts are telling them that Putin plans are failing. Obviously, the Ukrainian recent gains are starting to bite. 2 3

Here is my take: I suggest that Putin has not now enough trained troops or modern weapons to plug the leaks in his defences. He obviously has moved troops from Kharkiv to Kherson and this has left him vulnerable. The longer his leaves moving new forces to Ukraine he risks a winter and spring offensive, and we know how that went for him last time and also for Napoleon and Hitler. Waiting to next summer will be too late. He is going to get screwed and there will be only one outcome. 4

Popular Post placeholder Posted September 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 10, 2022 This is some very good news. Well, if you don't support the Russians Ukraine recaptures Kupiansk potentially trapping thousands of Russian troops The town is where rail lines linking Russia to eastern Ukraine converge meaning soldiers could be cut off from supplies to Ukraine’s benefit Ukraine's flag has been raised above Kupiansk in the northeast of the country, six months after Russian forces captured the strategically located town... Eyewitnesses have said Russian soldiers were fleeing Ukrainian troops in what has become a rout. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/09/10/ukraine-recaptures-kupiansk-potentially-trapping-thousands-russian/ 4

A local Moscow-backed official and pro-Russian military bloggers said Saturday that Moscow’s forces had pulled out of Izyum, a staging post for the campaign in Donbas, to avoid being encircled.... Daniil Bezsonov, first deputy minister of information for the Moscow-backed Donetsk People’s Republic in Donbas, said the Russian military had abandoned Izyum and some other localities in Kharkiv. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-09-10/russian-forces-flee-as-ukrainian-army-makes-swift-eastern-push 3

Popular Post Bkk Brian Posted September 11, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 11, 2022 Run rabbit, run rabbit, run run run Ukraine counter-offensive: Russian forces retreat as Ukraine takes key towns Russia's admission of a withdrawal from Izyum is significant because it was a major military hub for Moscow. Shortly afterwards, the chief administrator of Russian-controlled parts of the Kharkiv region recommended that its residents evacuate to Russia "to save lives", according to the Russian state-run Tass news agency. Replace "shell" with "nuke" and you get the gist of what I'm thinking about. Not even Putin may be mad enough to nuke his own men, but he may be mad enough to nuke Ukraine once his men are out of the way. Lets hope not. 2
ballpoint Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 On a lighter note, the female residents in the former Russian occupied towns have been dancing in the streets upon seeing their liberators, singing "Ukrainian men, hallelujah!"
tgw Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 the northern Ruzzian front seems to have collapsed. https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/3568896-invaders-collaborators-fleeing-from-luhansk-region-toward-russia-regional-chief.html there seems to be some kind of news blackout, but there are Ruzzian social media posts saying Ruzzians are running from Svatove, and even from Luhansk too. I don't know if this is Ukrainian propaganda trying to amplify the rout or if these are genuine and Ukrainian troops are just being careful to not get hit by a Ruzzian counterattack. 2

It comes amid unconfirmed reports that Russian forces in Kherson city could be on the brink of surrendering. Popular Post Bkk Brian Posted September 13, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2022 Ukraine Pulled Off a Masterstroke, Ukrainian leaders announced one counteroffensive against Russia—but had another in the works. This stunning Ukrainian advance was anything but sudden. It resulted from a patient military buildup, excellent operational security, and, maybe most important, the diversion of some of the Russian army’s most powerful units from Kharkiv Oblast itself. The overall planning by the Ukrainian government and armed forces worked well on so many levels that it produced one of the greatest military-strategy successes since 1945. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/09/ukraine-russia-putin-kharkiv-kupyansk/671407/ 7 1
