I sometimes go between CNN and Fox, that's my excuse for watching Fox at all, and this  morning they had a guest on Brian Kilmeade's One Nation who was talking about his bad experiences with Putin in the past.

He then talked about how there have been so many apologists and sycophants to Putin over the years, despite his terrible treatment of his own people, and the media. There wasn't a hint of a reaction by Kilmeade despite their networks treatment of Putin as a strong able leader. 

 

I think in general this is a big turning point where Americans can see that there are times where having a leader who takes a moral stand, and who can build strong allies with a common stance, is an important and good thing. It may alter who is deemed electable and who is not.

There is a history to this. The white supremacist explicitly pro Hitler "America First" movement before WW2. No coincidence at all that the Fox/Trump alliance used the exact same slogan.

You're seriously defending Tucker Carlson  and taking any "apology" of his as sincere?

 

BTW, I changed guilt to culpability in response to your post which I think you're correct implied that they feel and accept personal guilt. Of course they don't. I meant they are GUILTY and they want to avoid consequences for that by trying to hope we don't remember what they did for MANY YEARS.

It was stupid. Not because it is a bad idea but because assassination of a foreign leader is against the Geneva Convention and a US senator making that suggestion is fodder for Putin's propaganda. Outside of government, it's fine.

The distinguishing thing about Fox is that they will fabricate with impunity.  Spin, unfortunately, is everywhere.

Ethics?  As Sean Hannity himself will say on occasion "I never said I was a journalist."  This is why ethical journalism does not come into play.  A few weeks ago Fox began a new full-on assault of Hillary, something to do with the 2016 race.  That weekend she made a speech at some Dem event and mentioned it briefly, said Fox was getting close to actual malice.  Her name has not been spoken since.  Roger Ailes, the founding father of Fox (now dead) had a rule of only attacking those who would not fight back.

Fox had a real journalist named Shepherd Smith that actually reported facts but the viewers hated him.

You can go back on the YouTube channel and see the comments. The Fox audience are not interested in facts and logic.
