Here in Pattaya, I've always found Russian people to be rude, ill mannered, abrasive and unfriendly to non-Russians. That said, I would hate to see these people end up homeless and out on the street. One thought that occurs to me is that street crime would go up. Another thought is that their own government really doesn't care about them, and for this fact alone, I feel pity for them.

Time will reveal their fate!

Well Putin obviously doesn't care about the conscripts he's sending to Ukraine to be cannon fodder, and shooting the ones that decide to go back. But perhaps many of these Russkie expat types are higher status.

That's not really fair. 

This reflects the current decision (which may change) of Biden and NATO that direct conflict with Russia is too high a risk for total nuclear war.

Life's a bitch when we have press freedom (outside authoritarian ruled countries), plus the Ukrainian citizen to world citizen social media. "... its forces were only targeting military infrastructure in Ukraine". We are seeing, in real time daily civilian apartment buildings, schools, hospitals being destroyed. OK, maybe they were not targeted ... it is just the result of Russian military incompetence. Apartment complexes ... OK, as the Ukrainian citizens are defending their country, anywhere they live can be deemed a military target ... spin, spin, spin. Russia (action taken in the name of all Russian citizens) is to be globally condemned for invading a sovereign country and held accountable. Yes, I would apply the same to other countries, including my own but ... the current issue is the Russian unilateral invasion.

Armchair quarterbacking?  What exactly is it that biden can do that would satisfy his critics?...damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.  I for one am glad we have a sane president that does not think he knows more about everything than all the people around him and is willing to listen to the opinions of dozens of allies rather than just shooting off his mouth.

Well, at this point there is strong majority support among Americans to do more that indeed risks direct war with Russia. As Putin continues with his mass slaughter of civilians war crimes reality tv show, it's going to become much harder for Biden and Nato to not go further.
