Officials Detect 15,716 Hotspots

BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) – The Interior Ministry has detected 15,716 hotspots which cause haze so far this year.

 

Sutthipong Chulcharoen, permanent secretary of the Interior Ministry, said that from Jan 1 to March 20 there were 15,716 hotspots including 6,757 in national forest reserves, 4,594 in conservation forests and 2,172 in farmland.

 

The most hotspots in the North amounted to 2,823 in Mae Hong Son province, followed by 1,971 hotspots in Lampang and 1,665 in Chiang Mai.

So, let me get this right. Nearly 85% of all hot spots are on land that is either National forest or conservation areas and only say 15% farmers to blame ? Seems the point of blame for the haze needs to be less on farmers and more on the people governing the forest reserves and conservation areas .

Makes sense it is in forests.  Was told by rhe Other Half it was done as the people want the mushrooms that appear after fires.

This is a tall tale, at least here in the forest behind our house. After every yearly (17) fire in the moutain behind us we didn't find any mushrooms, except a few you would die of.

 

If you believe all these fire-mushroom stories, you can trust all mirtacles written in the bible.

There are mushrooms that fruit after fires have burbr then it rains.  In Eurooe an example is the Horn of Plenty mushroom.  So it is plausible as a hypothesis.
