Not since 1911, when (Outer) Mongolia declared independence from China.  (But yes, there's also Inner Mongolia, which is part of China.)

Fun facts about Mongolia: population of 3.3 million, average monthly salary in Ulaanbaatar (the capital): 1.2 million Tughrik (about 400US$), a flight from Ulaanbaatar to Bangkok costs more than a flight from London, so yes, another fringe market segment for Thailand's tourism industry. (I'm sure, the 87 Mongolians who can afford a holiday in Thailand are already packing...)

Thank you for the morning daily trivia info...

Cant wait to Yaks Milk on Restaurant Menus everywhere.

Instead of the Thai-Denmark shops it will be Thai-Mongolian Yaks Milk Shops......Oh how I wish there was a true Mongolian Barbeque restaurant in Bangkok where you gathered up what you wanted in a large bowl added your sauces of choice and then they cooked it like this.....

Isn't Mongolia part of China, and has China not curtailed its travel abroad.  They can showcase all they want but I am sure travel to Thailand from those locales is a dead subject for now....

American's have little idea of the world geography, but if I were you, I wouldn't brag about it. ????

why they are wasting money on showcases like this when the money spent is more then they will ever see in return from visitors from those countries.

Everything here is a boondoggle to enrich a select few.

This is elementary Thai stuff 101.
