Popular Post ThailandRyan
So these are the new High end tourists they are seeking. Another OP running is also showcasing Ganja Infused Fish sauce and Ganja leaves Draped over Jasmine rice. False and misleading as it's not CBD oil infused and are just useless hemp leave products.....but hey good for them if they think people will come in droves just to try a product which will not get them high like a true edible will.

Time Traveller
Yeah I can imagine it's going to be a real big success. Immigration Officer: "What is the purpose of your visit to Thailand?" Foreign tourist: "To take drugs" Because if there's one thing I thought Thailand doesn't have enough of, it's people who take drugs. 1

Being Under the Influence whether it be alcohol or drugs, legal or not, will just magnify the road carnage issue here. It would be better if posters got their facts right before making comments like this. As I and many others have said before, the type of cannabis we are talking about wouldn't br strong enough to give a d tolab rat a buzz, so it's hardly likely to affect the "road carnage" figures! And even if it were the "illegal" cannabis such as "Thai Sticks" etc., most drivers tend to drive slower than when under the influence of alcohol. 2

JimboB4
Except everyone is allowed to grow it, you can’t control how people grow it, therefore you can’t control the THC level and they are getting better at it. Even the clinic has higher THC levels now. Even the oil has very high levels now.

This govt has shown time again that it like to go "step by step" as it makes any significant changes. Cannabis is a great example. I consider this to be the end of phase 1 - made it legal. Phase 2 will be to have designated recreational areas, e.g. Phuket where the "best" weed will be available. Promote the hell out of. Thai Sticks and the Golden Triangle. Have shops where you can select your smoke, smoke or take away your smoke, maybe a couple of cold beers and out the door. .2%??? Is that a misprint? No, the most potent weed Thailand can produce. Then they will come. And I mean a lot will come. Legalize prostitution? That would be nice but really, who cares. Quality or not, these tourists will bring their money and be prepared to spend, especially after a couple of hits on the bong. We're talking about an administration that blurs out booze, smoking, short skirts and boobs in movies/tv ...in 2022. ???? 2 1

AMFWolfie
Well this takes the biscuit!! I've heard some pipe dreams on the is site from various Thai officials/groups/government etc but really, cannabis for well being!! Are they really that naïve to think without THC levels there are practically no benefits to be had. I took part in one of the first clinical trial in Thailand for a very painful torn shoulder and the amount of paperwork and tests I had to undergo was crazy let alone a document I had to carry with me to say it was legal for me to have this tiny bottle of cannabis oil which by the way, did <deleted> all. To be fair, at the time I would have tried anything to avoid a 300,000 baht operation and must have tried every alternative treatment known to man. Not because of the cost but the recovery period was so long but cannabis oil is not the magical "fix all" they rant on about!!
Misterwhisper
7 hours ago, webfact said: Anutin Charnvirakul, the public health minister, said that once the delisting comes into effect – 120 days after publication on the Royal Thai Government Gazette website – people will be able to grow cannabis plants at home after notifying their local government. True. But ONLY cannabis plants yielding no more than 0.2% THC by dried weight. Every other plant variety will remain illegal. Low-THC cannabis is also known as "commercial hemp" and is grown on an industrial scale mainly for its fibers, which can be made into linen cloth -- or ropes. These varieties will NOT make "high". You could just as well roll up your linen shirt and smoke it. High-THC cannabis will remain illegal. Only "academic research institutes" and of the government are permitted to grow it in high-security compounds. However, as far as I know, there are no limits on the content of that other main chemical compound in the cannabis plant, CBD (cannabidiol). Extracts and oils are reputed to have various beneficial medical effects. In that context, "Thailand's cannabis liberalization" is misleading, as it only and exclusively refers to cannabis varieties that explicitly do NOT induce a "high".
