Not that it really matters, but do you know why there is a small discrepancy in the numbers?

Autolife and car250 both quote 38,022 for total registrations, while DLT had 39,697 in the sheet you shared.

For EV car250 quote 3997 and autolife 4088.

Bz4x did well

pfft

It is probably just a rounding error for the Bz4x. 3 zeros in a row sound odd. Maybe a 1,000?

BMW did well in April at 111 registrations. Mercedes is really struggling to join the party 🥳

They initially registered 66.  I suspect they were pushed on the dealers as demonstrators.

They are appalling VFM so I would only be mildly surprised if they didn’t sell any at all.

I am also surprised about the Changan Saloon, I don’t like SUV’s but it appears I am in a minority.

Nope...I can't explain why car250.com's reported registration amounts does not match the DLT registration data that DLT posts on their website.

https://web.dlt.go.th/statistics/

I checked the DLT website again this morning...and it still reports the same thing as shown in above snapshot from a day or so ago when DLT posted their updated data for April registrations.

Anyway I am not surpresid the Deepal is selling very well here.

one of the most important things for Thais is look. The Deepal look expensive and posh

the design of the suv in particular is really nice

Maybe when Byd will lunch the pickup , that will be the new best sellers, but we don’t have a date yet and pricing

Are not looks one of the most important things for most everyone buying a new car?

From looking at the DLT registration data 66 Bz4x's were registered in Jan and then for months Feb thru Apr there have been zero sales.    And even in 2023 they had very few sales.

I bet those 66 Bz4X registrations in Jan was just some type of Toyota creative accounting like maybe selling/transferring all remaining Bz4x in their new car inventory to maybe Toyota Sure (preowned car division) who in turn would try to sell them.   Or maybe an wholesale sale to some company in another country and they Bz4s's where then shipped out of country.

Yeap, my gut feel is Toyota just need some type of creative booking keeping which involved registration.

Yes, all of the Japanese, European and US automakers used creative accounting, only the Chinese automakers and the people that worship them can be trusted to provide reliable numbers,

The Ora Lightning Cat now called the 07 was the 10th best selling EV and we haven’t really talked about it much here. Paul Tan’s review is pretty comprehensive

”This car has gone by many many names over the last 2 years, it has been called the Ora Sport, Ora Lightning Cat, the Grand Cat, the Flash Cat, the Next Cat or as some people have called it the Copy Cat”

Why did they not call it "Bad Cat"? Seems like a miss.

And why do we have Mini Big C, rather than just Little C?

I expect "all" businesses do some creative accounting and transactions for sales, business, profit, tax, etc., purposes.   I expect that is what Toyota did for their Bz4x EV model which for "all 12 months" of 2023 only a total of 60 registrations occurred.  Then for Jan 2024 there were 66 registrations (more than for all of 2023) with zero registrations since then for Feb, Mar, and Apr 2024.  That implies to me Toyota took action in Dec 2023 or Jan 2024 to offload their Bz4x stock which involved registration....maybe a mass sell at wholesale price to an out of country buyer, transfer to their preowned vehicle division (Toyota Sure), or some other creative sell off.
