Couple arrested in Chonburi for allegedly producing contaminated sausages and food

Chonburi – A couple has been arrested in Chonburi for allegedly producing contaminated sausages and food.

 

The Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) yesterday (April 22nd) reported that they have arrested a wanted suspect from the Chonburi Provincial Court  who is named by Chonburi police only as Mr. Sinart, 38, at a house in Nong Khang Khok, Mueang Chonburi district.

The arrest follows an incident after many children allegedly got very sick after eating sausages in February this year.

Surprisingly for a country with an appalling hygiene in all food preparations, there are few cases of food poisoning compare to the millions who prepare and sell food products and i have eaten in some dodgy place i'll tell you that...

The label the cop is holding. Must be giant sausages.

The problem is most likely to have been excessive addition of  sodium nitrate as a preservative. "Pink Salt" as used to cure ham etc.  The cheap meat products sold in many places are likely to have that or borax present which is why I never by them.

Probably a few days old poorly kept rice,  and the protein allowed to bake in high temperatures.

I use borax to kill roaches. Very effective long term solution

Sausages often use nitrates in tiny quantities as a preservative, too much can cause methemoglobinemia

Now that would not surprise me , ' So you are here for making foul/fowl sausages , how would you like a job in the kitchens ?'  Would thin the inmates out in no time.
