Best way to get to Koh Chang from Pattaya?

Featured Replies

My friend and I would like to go to Koh Chang from Pattaya in a couple days. Please what is the best/cheapest way? Where does the transport leave from, what times and how much is it? Cheers

There is a mini-bus services that leave from just over Sukumvit, not too far from Pattaya Klang. Take the small road between the Bangkok Bank sub-branch and Numchai and near Fascino there, opposite the Lotus'ssssss shop. Might require changes at Kaeng. Not the most comfortable, nor safe, but likely cheap.

The best way would be by ferry from Sattahip to Ko-Chang. Try and get a full size bus to Sattahip.  If not take train from Pattaya to Sattahip https://kohchangferries.com/pattaya-to-koh-chang-ferry/sattahip-plan/ Do not try and save time or money by minivans.

there are no ferries from sattahip to koh chang,  see here for bus - https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Pattaya/Ko-Chang-Tai#r/Bus

I would rent a car and drive much more freedom.  The ferry across to the island is a drive on for cars.  Having a car on the island for exploring is great.

Someone mentioned Numchai. They leave twice a day- early morning and around midday. If  you want to go at another time you can just stand on Sukumvit where the crossover is near Pattaya Klang and the Rayong minivan stops. From Rayong bus depot you can catch the Trat van and they will stop and transfer you to a Koh Chang songtaew outside Trat. Is a longer journey than the Numchai van butI like being able to go whenever I feel like it. It should be 100 b to Rayong and another 200b to the Koh Chang turn off
