Popular Post 4MyEgo Posted May 11, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 11, 2022 My crystal ball tells me that they will try and hold out till after the election, so that they can keep extending the emergency decree, i.e. can't have protestors out and about voicing their dismay about this so called legitimate Government, otherwise, straight to the Bangkok Hilton for those going against the grain. Will they be able to pull it off, time will tell, although I hope not. 14 1 4

And an end to all the Covid measures, arrivals at any port allowed to freely enter, establishments allowed to resume normal business and an end to the emergency decree? Or just "endemic" in name only? 7

On flights or in close proximity to others in any location, it means I don't get infected with anything. In Thailand it still offers protection against pollution and PM2.5 in particular. But hey-ho, it's a free world, and your lungs. 10

Stargeezr Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 My 2 old Thai relatives just arrived 3 days ago. They wore their masks during the whole flight from Bangkok to Canada, except when they were eating. They done a rapid test today and so far have been negative, so are happy about that. 3 vaccines shots, and a case of COVID about 6 weeks ago, so they are quite experienced with COVID, and are still alive, and happy to be away from the heat of Thailand at the moment. Pandemic, or Endemic, What ever. I guess the new flu season/ COVID season will have to be figured out some day. I am just glad that less people are dying these days, compared with the period of the first 3 strains of COVID. 2

Popular Post khunjeff Posted May 12, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2022 Does any other country have this obsession with the labeling of the outbreak? All people care about is which restrictions will be tightened or loosened, not whether Anutin chooses to refer to it as "endemic". 3

I seemed to often get sick after long flights so I get it. I might wear a high-end mask on flights that allows me to breath without discomfort as minor as that discomfort may be it is still frustrating. Not concerned about interactions so the mask is really not a big deal. If I need to talk during a flight, I would most definitely do it maskless and take the risk. 1 1

Anutin stated that there was no guarantee of labeling Covid-19 endemic within the month of July. Read: "We're still making shedloads of money from PPE, dodgy ATK test kits, and hospitels. Oh, and keeping a disgruntled population off the streets in protests,," They will keep this going as long as possible. 6 2

Popular Post FinChin67 Posted May 12, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2022 Not anytime soon. They want to keep the sheep in control. Easier when they can slap limits based on covid and blame it for all their screw-ups. 4

Calm down and I definitely wouldn't be offended by others deciding to wear masks. Life goes on and hopefully people realize their opinions are only theirs and accept others. I remember one poster telling us all that the lockdowns were a small sacrifice and his life was swell. He stayed indoors 99% of the time and lounged in his pool for over 2 years. To me that sounds like hell but I respect that some have a different idea of fun. To each his own even if that creates a little risk.
