From June 1st, Thais returning to Thailand need not apply for a “Thailand Pass”, but foreigners are still required to do so, but the process for foreigners to enter Thailand will be made easier, while quarantine for air and land arrivals will be scrapped, according an announcement by The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Friday).

There is to be no quarantine requirement for those who are not fully vaccinated arriving by air or land, but they must either take a rapid antigen test, administered a medical professional, within 72 hours prior to departure or upon arrival. The insurance coverage requirement remains US10,000.

No COVID-19 test results will be required prior to travel for international arrivals who are fully vaccinated.

If you want real tourist arrivals get rid of the Thailand pass!

Long live Thailand.

Thailand is for Thais  Why should they need a ThaiPass when they are citizens?  The uncouth farang should always be required to have ThaiPass as they are a huge liability.

The farang and their fragile ego need to be knocked down.

They are knocked down every day but either they don't realize it or they don't want to admit it. They are allowed to live legally but under harsh condition like reporting every 90-day. Getting the extension renewed every year. Just like refugees in most countries. But many people endure these harsh condition otherwise there is no place in their own home land and no possibility of getting a bride at their age. Of course, this forum provides a channel for their anger and frustration. Their voices are not heard in any other places except this one.

I am quite happy here, I live as I want to. I'd have to be a multi-millionaire in Australia to have a GF 23 years younger than me, as I do here.

You keep banging on about anger and frustration of farangs living here. I'd suggest you are cherry-picking the posters who suit your confirmation bias.

As for the Thailand Pass, obviously the elite could not care less about the unemployment in the tourist industry, arising from their decision to keep life difficult for the average tourist.

I have to admit that I don’t realise it. I don’t find the annual extension a problem and 90 day takes less than five minutes using the App.

Now my wife is getting on for ten years younger than me and that might be a little unusual in my home country. In fact when we first lived there, some twenty years ago now I think a few people might have made the odd comment to others.

Yes there are a few ‘unhappy’ posters, some who like being so-called ‘keyboard warriors’

Actually I’m happy with my lot and many others are like me, couldn’t care one #### about what is happening here, they have just dropped out and let the locals get on with being downtrodden. If you are one of them, I think silly you.

Anutin has fallen in love with your comment, so pat yourself in the back for trolling.

You must be a real hit at parties.

Truth be told, egos are a lot less fragile than you think to live in Thailand long term.

Good for you knowing very well what needs to be done- I'm sure your handle could have  .."and not enough brains", to really fit in well with the ones temporarily running the sideshow.

The  readers here love people that know everything. Oh yeah.

So that when a "fragile" one tells some know it all where to go, they'll have no problems getting there.

Funny to read somewhere that they are using now artificial Intelligence for the Thai Pass.. Obvious the people in charge can't do it themselves..An health insurance required is not the problem only if you have to buy it from a Thai company.. My travel insurance is covering medical expenses that should do... and why a difference between Thai nationals and foreigners?? expats and retirees living here should be exempted.... they live here and pay taxes.... and if you want to be attractive to tourists scrap the whole Thai Pass.

And than the unvaccinated.. They can come with only a ATK test at arrival...

Do they really know what they are doing??

There is not going to be a flood gate of tourists if they remove the Thai Pass. It's a lean season anyway and by the time tourist season starts in September, I am pretty sure TP will be gone. The main reason for removing TPs for Thais, I think, is to facilitate easy movement across land borders. Of course, that is not going to help people who do visa runs.

I didn't realize that there were airlines that allowed unvaccinated people on planes.

I digress, continue...

It really does not matter what they do at this point. I mean they could open completely and no one would come.

The world is slipping into a recession. They have made every blunder you could possibly imagine for a country reliant on tourism.

Anyone still traveling with any brains will bypass Thailand.  It is a no brainer at this point.

Good boy , you stay right where you are , that will teach them !

It looks like towards the end of the year things may turn for the better.Visa and  travel problems will be a memory

As part of the Thailand Pass- can you use your insurance from your own country or does it have to be from a Thai insurer?

and if your insurer says “unlimited medical, expenses including covid” is,accepted in the Thailand Pass application ?

The dismal tourists number should tell us that there are more who arent coming till they get rid of TP. But your original point about teaching them....nothing cant.....They are beyond hope.

Fair enough, as there have been calls to rely more on domestic tourism. And almost no-one is unemployed or reliant on foreign tourists. Go, Thailand!

So so, Rome was not built in 1 day either. The Thai Pass requirement will also be scrapped - sooner or later. It is important to enjoy all developments that go in the right direction even it takes mouse steps ...
