Siam Rath reported that a chase ensued yesterday on Phuket when a red Mazda car being driven by a Thai man failed to stop for a motorcycle patrol search.

Yot, 26, fearing arrest, took off from the Thai Mai community heading for the five ways roundabout. Chalong police were informed and the chase continued from Soi Suksawat 1 on Wiset Road along the road that circles the holiday island.

Police cleared the area near a health clinic in Rawai to avoid danger to the public and as a last resort shot at the tires of the fleeing vehicle.

Yot said he had taken yaba and had gone to get some more at the estate. Two tablets were found in his possession.

He was charged with possessing a Class 1 drug, dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs and detained by the Chalong police.

The car was also impounded.

the five ways roundabout.

Is that because there are 5 different ways to die on it?

Lap nai

Brake failure

Pile up

Racing pickups

Random stray police bullet

A stinker

I love that, cordon of an area to safeguard the public from the vehicle and then start firing at the vehicles wheels. I can't see how this could go wrong ????

Just do not take drugs. Simple solution..

Running away from the law is not a great decision as well.

In America, the car could have looked like Bonny and Clyde s

at the end, so the guy is lucky to be in Thailand.

Just do not outlaw drugs.

It gives the "Law Enforcement/Prison Industry" many jobs and accomplishes nothing, but produces great harm - this idiotic shooting at the tires over 2 pills - extremely dangerous and pointless.

Else don't be hypocrites - outlaw the drugs alcohol and tobacco as well.
