What apps/websites do you use to travel around by bus/train/mini-van ?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a list of apps / websites to:

- book and travel by bus

- book and travel by train

- book and travel by mini-van (or mini-wan or even mini-padawan I don't care)

Thx ????

bus, train, mini van ... not a fan.

Buy a car.  If budge conscious, Suzuki Celerio, inexpensive to buy 328k, and operate 20 kpL

Faster and more convenient than all 3 options.

Hire a car. Cheap.

I won't be using a car on a daily basis.

The bus/van/train thing is to move from one country to another once in a while.

I'm not planning to stay in Thailand all the time.

One tourist visa then move to Cambodia, a tourist visa there, etc...

Last time I went to Thailand, I stayed there several years on ED visas and I got eventually fed up. I'm gonna need more diversity this time.

Any travel agent can book u a ticket.

Trying to rely on an app to book ground travel in Thailand is opening the door for confusion,  just go to the bus/train station before you want to travel and ask them when you can buy a ticket.  As for taxis, find a friendly trustworthy taxi before intending to travel and arrange the date/time.

Too many stories of farangs trying to book online only to find out the company didn't check their e-mail/booking system or something was lost in translation.

Trains:

Seat61.com

https://tts.railway.co.th/passenger/view.php

https://www.dticket.railway.co.th/

12Go as mentioned.  3rd class only available to buy at the station so won't show up on some purchasing sites.

Buses.  Too many to mention some of which don't appear on booking sites or have a Thai only web presence which means you have to do the hard yards and get to their office, which might or might not be at a bus station.  That's often best for trains too, although at least you'll get all the possibilities in one place at the train station.

https://www.busonlineticket.co.th/

12Go again

will cover many but not all.
