Without nepotism, bribery and class preference I dare say this whole lot would be working in rice fields

And the entire Country would be so much better off in terms of people who are actually qualified being placed in positions of higher Authority.

Being a dim-wit standing in front of press cameras and microphones and openly endorsing the malpractice of nepotism may not be against the law -- but it sure as hell is morally wrong.

so is dropping 1000 pound JDAMs on civilians. oops, collateral damage.

Very normal in american politics, and no one blinks an eye . Quite reasonable really. Family are usually people you can trust so employing your wife as your personal secretary is a good idea. Putting family in positions of authority in your organisation is also a good idea. Seems now that It is not allowed anymore in UK politics, but i suspect it still goes on.

A very good example of the Thai (political?) mind set.......no intentions whatsoever of serving the public.......just big fat snouts in the trough.

Interesting this should be in the news on the day the UK newspapers carry the story of Bunter trying to appoint his dippy girlfriend/mistress to a 100k job in the FO.......and then trying to suppress the story from coming out.....what a PM!!

A mafia government........... and people still think he is the right person to lead a nation.....WT...?

.. what do you expect, at least you can commit a crime, serve time, and come to Thailand and become an official..

Doesn't Thailand have a National Anti-Corruption Commission? Of course they would approve of nepotism, nothing corrupt with that.

The Anti Corruption Commission's job is to go after previous administrations ,never the one that's feeding them.

1.  Elected officials and civil servants are supposed to serve the public good.  In order to do that they should hire the best qualified, not a family member who needs a job and who might meet minimum qualifications if given time and training.

2.  Family members working in the same government offices are more likely to look the other way, cover up, or participate in incompetence and corruption.

In your opinion ...

Pornpetch said nepotism, in government, is not morally wrong.

So, what is the problem? The majority of voters still believe in lucky numbers of the three-headed chicken, luck in dinosaur vomit and the tons and tons of clay and stones worn as amulets ....... go figure!

As long as the voter base is as it is - good luck to all of them.

So true even before it was said in the news I heard it many times thrown around in backrooms  politicians and lobbyist " American voters are stupid "  this doesn't apply to just U. S. It is world wide!

What part do you consider opinion?  The part about elected officials and civil servants are supposed to serve the public good?  The part that states they should hire the best qualified, not a family member who needs a job and who might meet minimum qualifications if given time and training?  Or the part about family members working in the same government offices are more likely to look the other way, cover up, or participate in incompetence and corruption?

Since you quoted me, guessing you were answering my reply directly.   Apparently you didn't comprehend what I wrote.

Since I stated qualified, that eliminates your #1

Since I stated trusted, that eliminates your #2

Why ? what has he done or plan to do to justify this statement? i can't believe i read this correct, in practice this man is whit-washing 90% of the corruption in this country...

He is the President of the Senate.

He presides over the most corrupt organ of government, so yes, either directly or indirectly he also presides over, if not 90%, then certainly a significant proportion of the corruption in the country.

Difficult to answer such an ambiguous reply.  Do the numbers you edited into my post refer to the sentence that precedes the number or the following sentence?

Why don't you clearly answer specific questions?

I was trying to save you or whoever, the task of rereading what I posted, and your reply.

I can't be bothered, and I thought it was self explanatory the first time, and you can't comprehend it a second time.

3rd time .... if hiring someone qualified & trustfully (honest), then your reply is irrelevant, and not applicable to my original reply.  Let alone need to be repeated.... and yet

Have a nice day .... PEACE OUT

That is arguably correct in private businesses, but not correct in government service.

People with integrity in government service are expected to put service before family, at least on a professional level.  Hiring on any criteria other than qualifications leads to a corrupt patronage system that will hold a country back.

The whole country is run on these lines.  The best candidate for a job is not appointed unless related to the boss.  We should start a new movement named 'Do you know who my father is?'

Isn't that The Armed Forces Preparatory School?

In this kind of hierarchical social system with fairly distinct classes of high and low, and a commitment to perpetuate such distinctions, it's the normal state of affairs.
