Mukdahan to Phuket - Best way?

Featured Replies

I’ll arrive in Mukdahan around 3-4pm

Whats the best way to Phuket from there?

Not sure it can be done in time to arrive today…

Arriving in Mukdahan at 4 PM and expecting to be in Phuket same day?

Hell that's a challenge.

Another way of saying I don't think that there is any chance.

Distance is about 1500 km, 20 hour drive on the road.

The closest airports are 2 to 3 hour drive away.

Haven't checked the schedules.

But simply no way.

Realistic: drive to Khon Kaen, overnight and continue with (connecting) flight next morning.

Connecting: next non-stop is not before Friday from Khon Kaen.

Again checked schedules from BKK and DMK and looks like nothing going late evening (after 8:30 PM).

So really I don't see a chance.

And that's from Sukothai?

Mukdahan is in the far north-east at the Mekong.

Depends on how you look at it,  if I wanted to it would take 18 hours with 10 min stops on a motorcycle not a Wave.

Bus or whatever to Ubon and then flying Ubon - Bangkok - Phuket

But looks like it's not possible to do this today. You will have to spend the night in Ubon or Bangkok, and then tomorrow morning to Phuket.

There are currently only 5 flights a week from Savannakhet airport, all to Vientiane according to flightradar24.
