Featured Replies

At the rate these clowns are getting caught extorting people, we might just see an end of corruption within Thai immigration and the police force.

That's the joke of the day ????

If Mr Patel (it means farmer or peasant, in Hindi), holds a false passport,

then how can he be described as British in the OP? Fake British, maybe . . .

Is Patel an Indian name?

One of the most common Indian surnames, Patel, was a status name from a Hindu and Parsi name for a village herdsman. It is one of the most common Indian surnames in Britain, with over 100,000 bearers recorded in the 2011 census,” it said.Dec 2, 2559 BE

I would like to thank Maj-Gen Surachate Hakpan for everything he did to fix immigration in 2018. Ever since he did what he did immigration has been very professional and easier as far as knowing what is required. And thanks to him I’m no longer getting screwed by a particular visa agent and it always goes smoothly every year. There were growing pains but now it’s perfect. Although I do think they should reduce the amount of paperwork now that they have it so well under control. They could get rid of a lot of the redundant financial paperwork. Other than that it’s great now. I remember a few years ago I thought this guy was gone because of some of misinformation TVF was spreading about him a while back which only leads to rumors and speculation. I’m glad he’s alright.

Additionally thanks for legalizing cannabis Thailand this will be really good for their economy and it’ll improve health and reduce drinking. I actually helped my wife’s Sister quit drinking with cannabis treats I make.

There all rotten to the core.

Yes, sounds British. Like the chief of UK Home Office.

Good business for corrupt  police and people in the know

Getting to be the Norm in Thailand

No surprise there, this is common knowledge to anyone who can read.

This seems to be a similar scenario to the Red Bull heir's situation. Cough up enough money and avoid justice. Both parties deserve each other.

Why Prayut not make some crackdown on corruption in the RTP??

If he did there wouldn't be any RTP?

So you don't know about the Saudi Crown Jewels. (which disappeared forever in Thailand)

What 6 million baht?

Er, sorry,

4 million baht.

a) Its not Hindi, it is Gujarat word used by Hindus.

b) It means village headman, not farmer or peasant

You think that's bad? There's some deluded bloke named Rishi Sunak who thinks he's British enough to be PM. Go figure.

Thats an extremely racist thing to say , its quite normal and common for British people names from a non British origin and they are just as British as John Smith from Macclesfield

Thirawan filed a complaint after the money was paid and the supect had not been released.

This woman committed an offence by offering a bribe to the police then she files a complaint.......????

Big joke's about the only guy in the country who is not corrupt, hence why he is no longer the head of immigration.

What's in it for him? Nothing. That's why not. You think someone who removed from power a democratically elected government cares about police corruption?

Sounds about as British as 'Farage' although I suspect the bigot hadn't noticed that.....

The way it reads, his involvement was not of a participate, but of an investigator. "Pol Maj-Gen Surachate Hakpan, a senior assistant commander of the RTP known as Big Joke - told Thai Rath that Pol Col Ramet Kaewsungnoen was one of those arrested.",   The title of the story is absurd. "Big Joke involved" Yes, involved as an investigator. You have to be careful with the writers of these stories. Sometimes they do this stuff on purpose other times they are just lazy and clueless.

The title of the story is absurd. "Big Joke involved" Yes, involved as an investigator. Sloppy writing like this can tarnish an upstanding citizen's reputation. This writer needs to be more thoughtful. Yes, Big Joke is "Involved" as an investigator.

Patel is a common Gujarati name. Many Patels migrated to the USA. They along with the Sikhs and Tamils have moved overseas.

No, he could be British but view he’s a crook had a fake passport made.

Up in smoke industries on the move.

A drug dealer trying to curry favor.  One wonders if a bag was placed over his head to force him into paying the funds, but then was never granted his freedom that he wanted and was promised.....

Where in the hell were plastic bags mentioned?

A long bow to draw Sherlock.

Lay down on your couch and have another Lao Khao.

No sympathy for criminals or criminal cops. Let them share a cell. Case closed.

The police could have been a little bit more imaginative - accept the bribe to drop the 'use of a fake passport' charge. let him out the front door and then arrest him on the Interpol red notice!
