Thats the reason many people thinks they need to go back to their country and stop doing everything they can to find a way. What a ridiculous statement - For the record, people on Covid Extensions are not living here on "Proper Visas" , they are just extending their permission to stay as set out by the Thai Government in the Royal Gazette - What they are doing is 100% legal & they are following the rules - How this effects others, completely bemuses me.

 

I entered visa exempt last October- Opened up a bank account, put the required funds in there & can easily obtain a Non O For the purpose of Retirement, plus subsequent extensions - I received a 60 day Covid Extension on Friday to take me up untill 6th October 2022 - The reason i have chosen not to apply for my Non O Visa yet, is because i have been travelling around & not decided where i want to settle. When CE's end, i dont need to return anywhere, as some have suggested - I will just apply for a 90 day Non O Visa - Funds have been in the bank for 9 months now.

I already have a visa and I have had it since 2009.

There is one fact....Thai government have for quite some time been continuing with making covid extensions available.

I have no interest in why.

The fact is they have and clearly has nothing with not being able to exit Thailand.

If the government subsequently decides to scrap visa fees and extend visa exempt to 45 days..

As being recommended by TAT etc....

The Thai government sets out the rules - Myself and many many others follow these rules as set out in the Royal Gazette - Personally, if these Covid Extensions were not available, i would already be on my 12 month extension of stay based to my 90 day Non O Visa, which i have personally not decided to apply for yet, as given in my reasons in my previous post.
