Have you ever been in a situation where a person who you are with is possibly dying in front of your eyes and a hospital is refusing to treat them ? Your playing whataboutary on a thread like this while the poor girl has suffered 80% burns. Her friend could well have played a part in saving her life. But why not go the full hog and just say had she not visited an illegal club she would still be alive. Shameless 1

You seemed to be saying that the private hospital shouldn't have treated her , reasons seems to be that as you pay for insurance and she didn't have insurance , she shouldnt attend the same hospitals that you would be able to do . Well , I am sure that you will be pleased to know that she has now left the expensive hospital and is now in a cheaper one . She quite possibly wont survive this , but as long as your hospital bed is still reserved for you in a private hospital, that's the important thing

This one is about one victim in particular who will live the rest of her life scarred and no doubt facing years of corrective surgery.

Not just the UK, many European countries are the same. Years ago my mother fell and broke her wrist while on holiday in Italy. After having her wrist set and put in a cast she went to pay. The receptionist didn't speak much English so she got the doctor who said, "this isn't America, you don't have to pay for hospital treatment here".

The treatment would have been regarded as Accident/Emergency and provided free (normally an admin fee of a few Euros only).
