webfact
Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan The decision by the Constitutional Court to suspend Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha from active duty might have fallen short of the expectations of the opposition bloc and anti-government demonstrators, but should help lower the political temperature — at least for the time being, according to political analysts. How we got here - have a coupe'dtat hold elections - stay in power by fooling the people into think thinking we were elected (which they weren't) coupe makers still in power remove all rules requiring us to declare wealth/earnings while in office multiple huge budgets that we can fudge over 8+ years (coivid came at the right time) fill our boots no mechanism to remove us change the constitution so we can appoint ourselves again if there was another bogus election were the people don't actually vote for us directly, Thai style fudge democracy. remove any possible apposition by jailing them (they got that one from Putin) if it looks like we could lose fudged election ..................... another coupe'Dtat cycle continues fill our boots how the Thai people put up with this is beyond comprehension 2

However there has since been a major change and that indoctrination is now beginning to be unfathomed.

Yes the indoctrination is crumbling (under the flood of negative opinion which could not find a widespread outlet prior to social media). A fundamental pillar of the system has gone. What is left, and what is keeping them in power is the threat, and fear, of force. On several occasions over the last 75 years the establishment has taken to the streets shooting. The most recent manifestation of that was directed by the two generals who now front up this regime. It is a very big ask to stand up against that. Sooner or later people will, the regime will respond and we may well be faced with widespread revolt. They may manage to suppress such a revolt, although personally I think the forces they have (and can rely upon) are not up to the task. Like "Smedley" I suspect that civil war may be the eventual result; not in the sense of large forces manoeuvring around the country but in the sense of a messy and quite fast moving insurrection.
