You are quite welcome to join my ignore list if you wish, you are on two strikes as it is.

I wouldn't bother telling. I would simply do it.

One wonders what drove the forum to abandoned the other 2 emoticons, other than a perceived misuse of the sad or laughing ones.....the Emojis from the top are still available but then if one were to j

It's very English to use the confused face emoji as as passive aggressive dig that you're not comprehendible along the lines of "not sure wot yerr goin' on about, moyt."

Reducing the forums to a woke "positive only" quick response system kills any spontaneity for anyone with an opposite or questioning view to a post.

Who is now going to type dozens of characters to make a point which previously took one click.

I certainly will not be clicking anything in future out with this topic!

The "powers that be" are removing freedom of expression which I thought websites like this, with due moderation, were all about!

When that happens then normally I just skip comments from such person. But if I see them again and again, then I also put those people on the ignore list. If I don't see them anymore then they won't annoy me.

Other people's stupidity isn't my problem, so I can live with simply not reading their comments, no need to resort to the ignore button. Who knows, maybe they'll say something useful or intelligent one day?

As someone else mentioned, you have dozrens of emojis at your disposal right on your keyboard, so one extra click is really too much ? thats just silly.

They first came and took the "laughing" emoji

No one did anything about it because they didn't use the laughing emoji

Then they came and took the "confused" Emoji

No one did anything about it because they didn't use the laughing emoji .

Then they came and took the thumbs-up emoji

No one did anything about it because they didn't use the thumbs -up emoji .

Then they came and took the "cup" emoji

No one did anything about it because they didn't use the cup emoji .

When they come and take the heart emoji , there will be no emojis left to help the heart emoji

So now you say it is OK to use emoji's that you, the "powers that be" have removed from the system, but to do so I have to quote the post and now search for an emoji and then insert it?

Please explain that rational.

????

PS; I wasted two minutes doing the above when I could have done the same in one second!

PPS; please add an extra 15 seconds for the PS & PPS's

Please explain, in detail, how I can add an emoji from my keyboard with just "one extra click?

It is physically impossible! ????

First, I have to click to quote the message then I click the emoji button then I klick the emoji then I click enter.

Are you seriously saying that is how you want members to respond instead of just making the same emoji with one real click?

⁉️

The obvious difference is you can include them in your reply but cannot put them on others posts.

The point I was making was you have them available to you for your posts.

Instead of a pointless response how about answering my questions that I asked of the person I quoted?

So you are forcing people to use the "quote" function but still allowing the same emoji's to be used!

woke "positive only"

Waiiiit a minute.

I thought woke people were poe-faced naysayers, constantly finding fault and nitpicking with common sense Joe Blows. Please get your story straight, like is Biden sleepy or woke? Woke basically means, "me no like".

It all seems like perpetual, unsolvable grievances, just to have some -now manifesting in emoji-moaning. We're tiptoeing into OCD here with these intractable complaints.

Relatedly, if you read the wiki on participation prizes, the pretend-woke mega-target of fake he-man whiners, it says that they are proven to be effective in improving student outcomes in academics and sports.

I hope it's not against the rules to compliment the mods here.

Thank you one and all for providing this amiable time-soak that doesn't cost me dime-one. If you ever want to give me a time out or just bounce me outright, I'm good with that and grateful for your (unpaid, I'm sure) service.

The problem is that the explanations given so far by "the powers that be" (including yourself I assume) are that the single click sad. laugh and confused emoji have been removed because they cause offence, but it is ???? to include them in a quote.

That I do not understand!

Ive already told you, they would be in your response, NOT  placed on others posts, thats the difference and it wax simply a suggestion for those with a burning desire to include them.

You're stuffed.

I think I recall hearing that I can't mention other forums here, but let's face it, they're all dogs with 4 posts a day.

AsianNow has you by the short a curleys so much that they don't even have to rub it in.

......Like, when I was making fun of socialist tit suckers here cosplaying at being Trumpian hard men, I also have to laugh out loud at these faux-libertarians telling someone else how to run their forum business.

Someone built this, invested in it, and it their's (or the moderators they appoint) to 100% do with it exactly as they see fit.

Again, when even simplest conservative-based logic is applied to socialist tit suckers playacting as pretend conservatives, they completely fold and start demanding some kind of intervention from above. Maybe a committee, Comrade?

Did some anti-woke, goofy fraud here actually cry like a baby about "the powers that be"? Too funny.

Thanks, I have to admit I was not aware of that symbol until now.

I guess now I have to spend hours to make up my mind if a ???? or a ???? is the best reaction. I guess that is what they call progress.

Nah.

Just keep this one handy :giggle:

IMO the stalkers are upset because they have lost the officially-sanctioned emojis. Now, they either have to type a response, or use one of their own emojis.

Read the initial posts from moderators. The sad, confused and laugh emojis were removed because they were being abused, and I guess the mods had far more data than the average poster on which to make the decision.

Som nam na, move on.

Now the only decision is how much I love a post. Thumbs up - agree and like, Blue heart - Like an awful lot, Red Heart - love it so much  Trophy - oh my god thank you so much for that post. The emojis are a way for older guys to send the love to each other. It's a beautiful world.
