CARETAKER PRIME MINISTER Prawit Wongsuwan yesterday Sept. 27 categorically refuted what was called a “Pheu Thai landslide” victory in Sunday’s election for head of Roi Et provincial administration.

 

The Pheu Thai candidate, namely five-time former MP Seksit Wainiyompong, won the race for president of Roi Et provincial administrative organisation, also known in Thai as Nayok Or Bor Jor, with 301,000-plus votes, compared to rivals namely Jureeporn Sindhuprai who secured 126,000-plus votes and Ratchanee Polsue who gained 116,000-plus votes.

 

Though both Jureeporn and Ratchanee had been earlier associated with the Palang Pracharath Party, they were running as non-partisan contestants for Nayok Or Bor Jor of the northeastern province.

Doesn't matter if they win 60% or more, when the junta can change the rules and elect more 'pre-appointed' senators or whatever !

Self denial of the reality that's facing them but they can of course, just march in like they did last time at the point of a gun and tank barrel to continue the filling of their wallets.

Only 301k? I would have expected red shirted candidate would have gotten at least half a million votes. That's really bad if over 200k people voted former Prayuth band mates... In ROIET, the Thaksin heartland.

Prawit might need to be woken up properly to understand, what a landslide means. The rest of the cronies; get ready to pack and clear the stage. 
The winner took 301,000+ votes, second runner-up 126,000+ and third in line came through the finish with 116,000+. 

I personally do not care as the Thai electorate obviously does not care ever or intervene since 1932 ... Those successive governments got voted into office, irrespective of "legalized" coup, vote buying or other Asian miracles = you can only blame the voters for either getting "blinded" or by just sitting around and complaining but nothing more than that.

True. I doubt that the opposition parties even bothered to hand out inducements.

No one has mentioned the penchant of banning political parties and leaders for life.

Same as it ever was. 

Yet, the rhetoric continues from all corners in it's usual manner.
