About 40 former and active MPs from various parties showed up at the newly-renovated head office of the Bhumjaithai Party today (Friday) to join formally.

They were from the Palang Pracharath, Pheu Thai, Move Forward, Thai Economic and People Progressive parties. Among them were Chakkrapan Pornnimit and Srihadet Kraikupt of Palang Pracharath and Niyom Changpinit from Pheu Thai Party.

Srihadet Kraikupt was accompanied by his younger sister, former Palang Pracharath MP Pareena, who lost her parliamentary status and was banned from politics for life. She was found guilty of gross ethical misconduct by the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders in April this year for encroachment on 113.76 hectares of state land in Ratchaburi Province, which was partially turned into a poultry farm.

Looking like the believe Anutin will be the new PM

.....jockeying for a position in his cabinet it seems.

He has more chance than Prayut and Prawit, they've both outstayed their welcome.

So jumping ship now and making new alliances.

erm - maybe because Anutin is the Minister for Health, seeking political support for championing the wearing of masks at indoor meetings???

So many are obsessing about them... bad wigs is more amusing!

What is needed is a law requiring anyone who leaves a party to be barred from political office for 4 or 5 years.

There was something like that in the 97 constitution, I think it banned MPs from leaving without 90 days notice. This was to prevent them jumping ship when an election was announce. The result was the PM became more powerful, which was one of the reason for the 2006 coup. Many banned politicians just get family members to stand in for them. What is needed is not voting for ppl who are so obviously purely out for themselves.
