Drinking 2 or more cups of coffee daily may DOUBLE risk of heart failure.

Drinking two or more cups of coffee per day may significantly raise the risk of heart disease-related death in some patients, a study suggests.

Japanese researchers found people whose blood pressure was above 160/100 mmHg - considered extremely high - were twice as likely to die from a cardiac issue compared to people with lower levels.

<deleted> in the west it is advised to have at least 2 cups to be healthy

Strange how the text below the photo says 180/100, and that the other says 160/100.

Let's settle for 170 !

I suspect this doesn't apply to instant coffee, as this contains only around one sixth the amount of coffee you'd find in a coffee shop's espresso type.

IMO people with normal blood pressure have nothing to worry about.

Pick your study, plenty to choose from.

Medical researchers are always trying to find something wrong with the things people enjoy most.

I think they are puritans at heart, suspicious of anything that brings joy.

The jury is still out on Brussels sprouts, I think they need to be researched.

Does that study mention people with uncontrolled high blood pressure?

160:or 180…….OMG I have a 2000 baht machine I use and I’m around 111…..we’ll, I thought I needed the machine, and I like it, but OMG if I saw 180…….

Just another study of a small subset of people and we have the answer for all.

Next study please....... ????

I drink a lot more than that since many years and I am still alive.

We all will die somehow. Enjoy life!

Don't worry about it. Wait a few weeks and there will be another study saying drinking 10 cups a day is good for you.

I can remember when butter was bad for you, and everyone should eat margarine, which is a man made concoction only one molecule away from plastic.

Now, margarine is bad as it contains all the bad fats, something to do with trans, though what ladyboys have to do with it baffles me.

Onemorefarang summed it up, we all go one day, just enjoy it while you can.

The beauty of all these studies is that we can all find articles which support our lifestyles.

Well...if it's in the Daily Mail then it must be true right ????

A blood pressure reading of 180/100  is just at the lower end of hypertensive crisis.

If you are getting that kind of reading you should be seeking medical attention. You are already in danger without the coffee.

Oh rats. That means I'll have to drink 20 times more instant coffee, given I don't like strong coffee.

I always ate butter till they stopped making fridges with butter softeners, as I don't like leaving butter out.

Now I eat marg as it doesn't need softening.

Memo to self -- ignore all coffee health scare mongering.

I took my blood pressure before and after drinking coffee - the increase was noticeable.

There is an easy solution: Just cover those eggs with enough sauce - problem solved.

maybe too much coffee gets the heart rate up too high.

but it's good for the brain. it makes you more alert and focused.

there's a lot of stuff much worse than coffee that is harming people's health.

It raises my blood pressure, I stopped for a while and my average systolic blood pressure dropped about 20 points.

More quackery! Two or more? Well 20 is more!

I stopped drinking coffee a few years back when I discovered that i got a better feeling by drinking reishi wine.
