Was he a threat before Ukraine wanted to join NATO ?

Would the yanks like Russia to move their military up to their borders, come on, let's get real, who is the real threat.

Yes, he invaded Crimea.

Nearly two-thirds of US LNG went to Europe, up from roughly a third of the total in all of 2021. America has shot past Australia and Qatar to become the world's largest LNG exporter. A deal agreed to in March by America and the EU calls for an extra 50bcm per year of American LNG to flow to Europe this decade.

Yes thanks, I am well aware of how conveniently timed this was.

Good, the less dependent the world is on anything Russia produces the better.

Apparently, Lauren Boebert and Matt Gaetz didn’t stand up and applaud either. And Marjorie Taylor Green and Josh Hawley didn’t even bother showing up. Disgraceful, to say the least.

Not really disgraceful in my eyes.

More par for the course for them.

In the UK they could well be described as "champagne socialists".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champagne_socialist

Champagne socialist is a political term commonly used in the United Kingdom.[1][2] It is a popular epithet that implies a degree of hypocrisy, and it is closely related to the concept of the liberal elite.[3] The phrase is used to describe self-identified socialists whose luxurious upper class or "preppy" lifestyles, metonymically including consumption of champagne, are ostensibly in conflict with their political beliefs.

Judging by the pic, I'm going with airplane.

Judging by the pic, Zelensky was travelling with a double, just in case something went wrong with the plane.......

When someone with my level of education and experience is told to be open-minded, I do find it offensive. Same situation as with idiot anti-vaxxers, moron climate deniers etc.

History tells us negotiating with tyrants is futile. It only encourages them. Putin has an extensive record of reneging on formal agreements.

You want to negotiate with a guy who poisons his opponents, and puts Russians in jail for even mentioning it's a war? Good luck with that.

At the end of the day, the US in my opinion is no different to Russia, or China or the Crown Prince who killed journalist Jamal Khashoggi, they all get away with murder.

The international courts found that the US and the UK for that matter had no legal right to invade Iraq, believe what you want, and no one will ever be prosecuted.

I just can't stand it when most people are blind to the USA's war crimes and atrocities because they believe what mainstream media feed them.

I can't understand why many posters can see and hear what Russia is doing every day in the Ukraine, and then blame the USA, NATO and the Ukraine for standing up to the Russian forces. They don't comment when Russia sends missiles and drones to attack civilian infrastructure in the Ukraine yet whine when the Ukraine attacks 2 airfields deep inside Russia.

Military and NOT civilian targets.

Has that got anything at all to do with Zelensky visiting the US to get further help to kick out the Russian terrorists  that are murdering innocent civilians and destroying their homes?

Do you ever get tired of "look over there, a squirrel!" instead of addressing the actual topic?

It is somewhat ludicrous Putin and his military think they can bombard Ukraine with waves of missiles, and be immune from any response. It's like asking someone to fight with one hand tied behind their back.

No it won't. The US will foot the bill. They invited Zelensky, not NATO.

The US could not give a rats ....... about Zelensky. Yet, as the Ukraine's puppet since 2014, put in place by higher forces, he plays an important role in keeping NATO's interest focussed and under this preamble the "state visit" of the Ukrainian president is to be seen.

If it is not NATO to sign the swindle sheet, then the American taxpayer will be entrusted with the coverage of this PR tour for sure.

Why had Ukraine not been allowed to join NATO before the invasion then and why did Zelensky additionally offer Putin a peace deal stating he would not join NATO if that brought peace? How does that fit in with your theory?

They weren't aloud to join as they have missed so many European Union, International Monetary Fund, and U.S. reform encouragements since 2014.

This is further undercut by the reality that Ukraine is not in control of all of its territory. Russia has annexed Crimea and supports separatist republics in the Donbas.
