When someone with my level of education and experience is told to be open-minded, I do find it offensive. Same situation as with idiot anti-vaxxers, moron climate deniers etc.

History tells us negotiating with tyrants is futile. It only encourages them. Putin has an extensive record of reneging on formal agreements.

The only way to end this war is for the Russian people to depose Putin, leave ALL Ukrainian territory including the Crimea, Donbas and Luhansk, release ALL the Ukrainians that have been forcibly taken from their homes in Russia.

 

Anything less is a betrayal of the Ukraine and its people who have suffered firstly from an unprovoked war, and now from unprovoked attacks on the civilian infrastructure, which is also a war crime.

 

Now it seems that Russia is crying over 2 military airfields inside Russia that have been attacked. They are legitimate military targets in a war started by Putin and the Russian military.

 

Russia responded by attacking more civilian targets in the Ukraine. It seems that Russia is happy enough to attack civilians in the Ukraine but not so happy when Russian military targets are attacked in Russia.

 

One thing that amazes me is how the Ukrainians managed to send missiles and/or drones across Russian territory considering the much vaunted superiority of the sophisticated Russian Air Force.

 

It shouldn't really have surprised that many people though as this man flew his light aircraft and landed in at Red Square in Moscow.

At the end of the day, the US in my opinion is no different to Russia, or China or the Crown Prince who killed journalist Jamal Khashoggi, they all get away with murder. 

 

The international courts found that the US and the UK for that matter had no legal right to invade Iraq, believe what you want, and no one will ever be prosecuted.

 

I just can't stand it when most people are blind to the USA's war crimes and atrocities because they believe what mainstream media feed them.

I can't understand why many posters can see and hear what Russia is doing every day in the Ukraine, and then blame the USA, NATO and the Ukraine for standing up to the Russian forces. They don't comment when Russia sends missiles and drones to attack civilian infrastructure in the Ukraine yet whine when the Ukraine attacks 2 airfields deep inside Russia.

No doubt the USA has made many mistakes in its pursuit of self-interest, all nations do. It's called realpolitik, get used to it.

 

Having said that, IMO I would prefer living in the US rather than Saudi Arabia or Russia.

Why had Ukraine not been allowed to join NATO before the invasion then and why did Zelensky additionally offer Putin a peace deal stating he would not join NATO if that brought peace? How does that fit in with your theory?

They weren't aloud to join as they have missed so many European Union, International Monetary Fund, and U.S. reform encouragements since 2014.

 

This is further undercut by the reality that Ukraine is not in control of all of its territory. Russia has annexed Crimea and supports separatist republics in the Donbas.
